Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger finally reveals Genba’s hidden identity as a new Hashiryan captain presents himself. The 48th Sentai series adds an unexpected debut for BunOrange as his past and truth comes to light.
Lap 3 of the Super Sentai series has placed a focus on the mysterious Genba Bureki, as a new villain unleashes his true nature. Boonboomger faces division as BunOrange shares his rage for Disrace, along with the secret to his acquisition skills. With the Hashiryan working with the new Rebuild Captain, a plan is set in motion as a new Kurumajyu attacks amidst the heat of a wrathful reunion between conqueror and victim.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger has featured the acquisition expert since the very beginning of the 48th Sentai series. Satoru Soma has portrayed the characters as a cool addition to the team, with a lolly pop in one hand and a desired item in the other. Although a core member of the team, Genba has remained a mystery along with his unqiue skill that he brings to the team. Lap 3 now focuses on revealing greater details about the character, a new villain, and the upcoming new powerup featuring soon.
Episode 27 Drags Genba Into The Light

Boonboomger continues off the first episode for Lap 3 as Genba breaks his cool streak after Disrace reveals himself. The second instalment of the new arc features reveals for Genba that peel back the mystery. The episode also debuts the Rebuilt General, Disrace, after his teasing debut, along with the creation of the Carpet Grumer. Discourse is now running rampant as a range of previews and scenes tease massive additions to the story, along with significant reveals.
Genba’s Identity Reveals Orange Ranger Trope

Genba Bureki has finally been outed after Disrace’s appearance causes him to unleash unexpected energy. Due to this outburst, Genba reveals himself to be an alien who has a dark connection with the Rebuild General. This also validates the archetype for Sentai Oranges as each previous addition has been a form of non human entity. It was fascinating to see Satoru Soma portray an impressive loss of control for a charge, allowing fans to find out about the mysterious character who has always been present.
We also are given a significant hangup for the character as his rage causes him to unleash attacks like a wild animal. This fits his appearance and the wild energy he gives off, which also adds another connection layer with Boonboom Safari. The first meeting with Taiya and his acquisition skills are also given light, which adds a fantastic profile to the fan loved character. Seeing the hero also outed as a royal member of his planet even adds greater significance to Genba and his impressive abilities.
Embedded Themes and Dramatic Tension

Online shopping and business themes are the main connector for the new arc and characters. Both Disrace and Genba have a potent connection in both storyline and methods. It was interesting to see online shopping provide for the characters and lead into a new type of issue. This includes both having the ability to obtain anything with an intergalactic drop delivery, which will be interesting to see the side effect for.
The reveal of Genba as Genbard de Livery II added extra tension for multiple levels aside from altering the team dynamic. This includes general mistrust, a reveal of great significance from Sakito and potential trouble from the ISA. There are so many potential routes that could now be taken but it was surprising to see Saiba express empathy. This was a great contrast to see that Taiga’s mentor and her boss have been secretly working together, teasing a significant connection to the Hashiryan and the mass production of Boonboomger Robo Killer.
Balanced Action Followed by Potent Teasers

The overwhelming power of Disrace was instantly apparent during the fight with BunOrange. However, it delivered incredible action scenes from the suit actor as he is blocked and parried across the battlefield. The effects perfectly captured to strain that Genba was exerting while also providing the same magnificent display for BunViolet. The Carpet Grumer felt like a lighter layer of detail as a result, but it also teased the potential for the more.
This includes seeing the carpet reclaimed by the Sanseaters upon Disrace’s request. It was also great to see the outspoken humour of Yeiyei still present with the new captain. The drama also continued as Genba removes himself from the team, which was an expected event after the recent action. However, the teased return of Mad Rex was the biggest climax to the episode as his dog, Hashiriken makes a short reappearance.

For adding a significant hangup for Lap 3 while meshing a range of teaser, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episode 27 a total score of 9 out of 10.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will air Episode 28 on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, exclusively in Japan. The next instalment of the 48th Sentai series will continue the fallout of the recent episode while also featuring the return of a past foe.
