With Kamen Rider Gotchard closed out, Bandai Japan are here to make sure that the flame never dies. The fiery Kamen Rider Gotchard Daybreak joins the Gotchard lineup of S.H. Figuarts figures!
It’s my favourite time of the month, an early Christmas that S.H. Figuarts is always happy to indulge in: a brand new S.H. Figuarts reveal! This time, it’s Gotchard’s future counterpart, the lone hero: KAMEN RIDER GOTCHARD DAYBREAK.
Teased early on in Fire Gotchard’s Figuarts announcement, Daybreak is another welcome addition to the series’ S.H. Figuarts collection, releasing hot on the heels after the movie Kamen Rider Gotchard: The Future Daybreak, as well as Gotchard’s 50th and final episode.

Vital Statistics

A Daybreak release was inevitable, as the character is mostly a recolour of Gotchard himself. Comparing the two S.H. Figuarts releases together, Daybreak clearly reuses the same moulds and sculpts of the original Gotchard release.
ABS and PVC materials are to be expected in a high quality figure such as this, with a PVC sheet used for the striking Fireling Afterburner cape, giving a lot of flexibility to the way the cape can be positioned and posed.

At approximately 150mm tall, there’s a lot of detail packed into this little guy. The armoured parts shimmer with a metallic orange coating, complimenting the fiery decals printed across his suit. As for the hands, there are three variations for both the left and right: relaxed, flexed, and clenched.
Accessories are abound with this release, not only coming with interchangeable hands, but exchangeable cape parts too. A mini version of the GotcharIgniter can be attached at the waist, the same mould used for Fire Gotchard’s release.

Weapons included are Daybreak’s signature sword-bow hybrid, the Gotchartornado, which looks stunning when wielded with the cape attached.

The figure can additionally be equipped with the Gotcharge Gun, opening the door for exciting action poses of Daybreak dual wielding both weapons, just as he did so in the show.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this figure is how you can easily switch between two different forms. While Fire Gotchard Daybreak Steamhopper has been shown off the most in these photos, the Figuarts additionally comes with customisable parts to transform Daybreak into his normal Steamhopper form too!

By equipping his zesty orange Alchemy muffler scarf and his own Gotchardriver, painted a crimson red, you can seamlessly switch Daybreak into his Steamhopper form! When pictured alongside the S.H. Figuarts Gotchard Steamhopper release, the two look incredible side by side.

To close things off, S.H. Figuarts treated us to a brilliant recreation of a shot from The Future Daybreak film: emphasising the figure’s dynamic cape flexibility and fiery metallic shine. You can see the comparison below.
