A New Team of POWER RANGERS Rises at BOOM! Studios

Boom! Studios have revealed Power Rangers Infinity #1 with a whole new team featured in the Power Rangers universe. A new one-shot comic will be released, which will be unleashed following the conclusion of Darkest Hour.

A brand new Power Rangers comic book release will feature iconic DC writer Sam Humphries and artist team Brandt&Stein in a new glimpse of the Morphin Grid. The new one-shot will keep the Power Rangers hype in the comics, with more still to come. As Mighty Morphin Power Rangers continues to run until August, this latest release will be followed by exciting plans to be announced at SDCC.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers expanded the Morphin Grid as Boom! Studios have featured a huge range of originals. Since 2016, various arcs and one-shots have brought amazing originals and gap fillers for the Power Rangers universe. New series have now been featured, including Ranger Academy and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return, which have added even more power to the lineup. Darkest Hour, the 30th anniversary comic event, was announced to be the conclusion of the long running series when it ends before August.

Wacky New Ranger Team Debuts in Power Rangers Infinity #1

In the wake of Darkest Hour, DC superstar Sam Humphries (Green Lanterns, Harley Quinn) and acclaimed artist team Brandt&Stein (Crowded) set the stage for a brand new one-shot adventure featuring a truly outrageous new team. BOOM! Studios, together with leading toy and game company Hasbro, present Power Rangers Infinity!

Diehard Rangers fangirl Lola somehow finds herself mixed up in a marvellous mess of multiversal madness! Lola, along with a ragtag team of off kilter Rangers from across the Grid–dubbed “Infinity Force”–must come together to face off against the mildly dangerous D-list villainess, Poisandra, who has managed to snake her way across the fragile multiverse.

“Fans are already saying that out of all the Power Rangers comic books that reference hockey goalies AND Jane Austen, Power Rangers Infinity is the greatest of all time. I’m truly honoured, and I absolutely couldn’t have done it without Ted and Ro. Not only is their art hilarious and heartbreaking, but they never once said it shouldn’t be done. Not one time!”

Writer, Sam Humphries

“It was an honour to be asked to contribute to the Power Rangers mythos, but Sam’s story made it a delight. A story of triumph and the washed-up dregs of aborted teams and more heart than it could reasonably lay claim to? How on earth could we say no to that? Now give us that Peggy spinoff!”

Artist Team, Brandt&Stein

This epic, oversized issue will feature a main cover by Paulina Ganucheau, along with variant covers by Brandt&Stein, Goñi Montes, and Sweeney Boo!

Fans can look forward to many exciting POWER RANGERS announcements from BOOM! Studios in the coming months, including exciting plans for San Diego Comic-Con.

This is going to be a fantastic piece of content in the Power Rangers world that will really push the universe wider than before. This Ranger team is way more eccentric than fans have seen before but it also has some similar vibes to other concepts like a “Battle Fever J Gone Nuts”. We are excited to see how Humphries will tackle the Morphin Grid with this new story, especially with such amazing releases featured in his credentials. There is such an odd mix of characters that fans may not be familiar with, but this will still be an interesting take that will broaden horizons like other Superhero universes.

As we are a UK based tokusatsu outlet, we are thrilled to also see Brandt&Stein work on this new release. They will bring such a fitting design to this concept and it’s clear their talent will make this story even more entertaining. It’s also brilliant that Poisandra from Power Rangers Dino Charge is returning as the villain, which is ironically one of Melissa Flores’ favourite villains. The writer for the Darkest Hour arc will also be delighted for the villains return and it will be exciting to see what this Morphin Grid of Madness will bring to life.

Power Rangers Infinity #1 will be available in comic shops August 21st, 2024. It is available for preorder at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.

Sam Humphries is a writer and television host. He has written over 200 comic books, including work for the Harley Quinn, Avengers, X-Men, and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises. His debut prose work, The Youngbloods trilogy with Gwenda Bond and Kami Garcia, was launched on Audible in June 2023. For Warner Bros. Digital, he cohosted DC Daily, an entertainment news show which ran for 450 episodes. For Marvel Entertainment, he wrote the video game Marvel Contest of Champions, which has accumulated over 215 million downloads globally. About Brandt&Stein:

Brandt&Stein are a gestalt comics making entity from the UK. Their biggest claim to fame is the multi award nominated Crowded from Image, but they also brought Connor Hawke out of the closet as asexual at DC, cocreated Escapade, the first trans mutant, at Marvel; they’ve drawn for most major publishers, contributed art to Fantasy Flight card games, and somehow still find the time to walk the dog.
