Premium Bandai Shugod Combination Kyoryuzin Dark Revealed

It’s about to get wild with the latest Shugod Combination reveal! Just try and stop us from revealing what’s coming!

Welcome all to yet another awesome Minipla reveal with me, Scott! I feel like recently my whole purpose has become Minipla reveals lately; not necessarily a bad thing, since I love a good kit myself, and today’s kit is especially awesome. While the main focus of today is the Kyoryuzin Dark variant, there’s a nice little tease for what’s coming next for fans of Shodo Super (i.e. me again). I’m personally really excited!

Nevertheless, let’s dive straight into the ‘dino-mite’ reveal…

Here he is in all his might! As you can see on the left, the main body consisting of Zyudenryu Gabutyra is exactly the same as the one releasing in this months King Kyoryuzin Minipla set! The difference is simply in the colouring, which consists of a nice edgy black and gold for those that put ‘cosmetic aesthetic’ above accuracy. The main difference compared to the aforementioned kit is the lack of additional Kingohger Shugod mechas, instead being a bit of a more traditional Kyoryuger set.

Dark Gabutyra

Of course, there’s not much to say that hasn’t been said about the King Kyoryuzin set. Dark Gabutyra like the new normal Gabutyra comes with increased physical and painted details, along with much increased (and frankly needed) articulation. Especially when compared to the Kyoryuzin Minipla kit of old.

Dark Stegotchi & Dricera

As you may have come to realise with the image at the top, this Premium Bandai kit also comes with Dark variations of Stegotchi and Dricera! Like Gabutyra, they have been recreated with completely new moulds, giving a much more detailed edition of these mechas featuring less stickers and more paints from previous iterations. This will allow you all you need to create the base combined form! They look fantastic, right!?

Dark Kyoryuzin

Of course, one of the best things about Minipla is their versatile range of motion and Dark Kyoryuzin won’t let you down! If I was a casual looking at this for the first time, I would have assumed it was DX; that’s how awesome the level of detail here is!

Like the King Kyoryuzin releasing this month, the face of Dark Kyoryuzin will be completely painted! Please note I specifically said the face, as there’s an obvious use of sticker on the helmet!

Stegotchi and Dricera

In an excellent move, the kit is also coming with the regular versions of Zyudenryu Stegotchi and Dricera! These weren’t included in the King Kyoryuzin kit releasing this month but if you’re adding that kit to your collection, you have all the more reason to add this one too.

Fear not though, if you have no intention to acquire this kit and have access to the original Kyoryuzin Minipla , the original Stegotchi and Dricera are compatible with the new models, as you can see below…

Now we’ll take a quick look at the evolution in designs for both Stegotchi and Dricera between 11 years of Minipla!

The originals still hold up well for something that can simply be branded as a ‘candy toy’ but it’s hard to argue the updated designs aren’t ‘peak Minipla’. Will we see updated designs for other Kyoryuger dino mechas? I’m not 100% sure but based on what’s to come I’ll just say… it’s very likely!

Now we can see the evolution between the combined mecha and the results clearly show! Of course, the original still looks good, but the updated one is clearly the superior model. The ‘Kyoryuzin she tells you not to worry about’ to put it simply.

It’s an exciting time to be a Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger or Power Rangers Dino Charge fan, and it gets better! For Shodo Super fans everywhere (myself included), the Bandai Candy team would like to reveal that Kyoryuger is coming soon to the Shodo Super line!

It’s very exciting to get a modern team, but also considering the size of the Kyoryuger team, it’s absolutely worth keeping an eye on the future reveal of this set to see what the team give us! I’m so very excited for this. It’s going to get wild!

Anyhow, that’s gonna do us for now! The Premium Bandai Shugod Combination Kyoryuzin Dark is expected to release in October 2024!
