Shokugan Modeling Project Seijuu Gattai GingaiOh Revealed!

Bandai’s Shokugan Modeling Project have revealed Gingaman for the next Minipla kit! We’ve got all the details; get ‘lost’ in a ‘galaxy’ of information!

The Bandai Candy team have blessed our February with the reveal and an initial look at the Gingaman GingaiOh mecha SMP Minipla kit. Western tokusatsu fans will recognise this little beauty as the Galaxy Megazord from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

As you can tell, this image and the ones that will follow are all renders as the product is currently in it’s development phase. The difference in colour and detail may differ in the final product.

Without further ado, lets dive in and get a look at each respective team member’s Starbeast…

Silver Starbeast Gingaleon

First up is Silver Starbeast Gingaleon, partner to Ginga Red. This little beast makes up the chest and head of the combined mecha. The Yellow horns aren’t contained within but attached after doing the combination change.

Silver Starbeast Gingalcon

Next up is Silver Starbeast Gingalcon, Ginga Green’s partner. This one can be combined with the mech to be the Galcon Bowgun weapon, or act as wings to propel our mecha into the sky!

Silver Starbeast Gingarilla

Let’s give a standing ovation to Silver Starbeast Gingarilla, the partner of Ginga Blue. Without the support of this starbeast, the teams mecha wouldn’t have a leg to stand on… literally.

That’s not all though, the hand pieces for the combined mecha can be stored within the soles of the feet. An excellent way to make sure you don’t lose them. You can also recreate the drumming motion of Gingarilla. I’m led to believe it’s been a long time since such a feature was in place, you know Minipla, though, they aim to not disappoint!

Silver Starbeasts Gingat and Gingabelic

The GingaiOh mecha will need a hand (or two) in combining. With the help of both Silver Starbeast Gingat and Gingabelic, our mecha will be armed and ready for battle. Gingat is the partner of Ginga Pink, while Gingabelic is the partner of Ginga Yellow.

GingaiOh

Together, they make a rainbow of beautifully bodacious blocky animals that would please any Sentai or Ranger fan. A highlight for anyone’s collection to be sure. Each animal will also be given a moveable jaw; that is to say it can only open and close.

Key Features

Alas, the cherry on top is the mecha’s weapon: the Silver-Armour Sword! Of course, it’ll be included in the set. With that, your mecha is ready to defeat all sorts of opponents that you can image whether it’s for play or display.

Of course, one of the best features of Minipla is the level of articulation and the team have spared no expense to make sure GingaiOh gets updated with the same respect. The tail and feet of both Starbeasts displayed have noticeably been shortened for the sake of keeping things neat, whereas they protruded on the original DX toy.

Gingarilla makes up the entire leg system for GingaiOh, so he’s been engineered to allow a great range of articulation through bends at the ankles and knees to allow many choices of movement for either play or display.

Lastly, we come back to Silver Starbeast Gingalcon, who has been given articulation in it’s wings for a number of reasons. It’s head and tail can be adjusted for recreating the Galcon Bowgun mode I mentioned earlier. But that’s not all…

By pulling out the grip piece beneath the Starbeast, you can recreate the scene where GingaiOh uses the Gingalcon like a shield!

That’s all for now though. We expect to hopefully get a much deeper & detailed dive into the product closer to it’s release date. The SMP Seijuu Gattai GingaiOh is expected to release June 2024.
