A preview of Ranger Academy #4 has been unleashed as the first year cadets will soon face the challenge of morphing into a Power Ranger for the first time. As Sage, Lindy and Theo work toward their Ranger colours, a mountainous trial awaits them.
The next issue of Boom! Studios comic book series, Ranger Academy, is blowing minds as the preview for issue four teases the cadets’ first trial and its variant cover features a new Green Ranger in the latest release. The incredible cover art and variants for the upcoming new issue, coming in 2024, have been revealed. This latest issue is the long awaited addition to the series since the first volume will collect issues 1 to 4.
Ranger Academy has featured a brand new mystery in the Power Rangers universe. The Boom! Studios series was written by Maria Ingrande Mora, with art by Jo Mi-Gyeong and Fabiana Mascolo. The comic currently consists of three issues, with a special story released as part of the 30th Anniversary special graphic novel. Although the comic features many different campuses and legendary cameos, a hidden green campus was found abandoned when Sage followed red cadet, Tula, in issue #3. The first volume of the comic was found on Amazon, with the listing revealing that a mystery will soon feature in the multi spectrum institute for Power Rangers.
Ranger Academy #4 Previews of the First Trial
If you had a chance to join the Power Rangers, would you? Maria Ingrande Mora (The Immeasurable Depth of You), artist Jo Mi-Gyeong (Eve: Children of the Moon), colourist Fabiana Mascolo (Alice Ever After), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) follow 13-year-old Sage as she continues to ponder that very question in this first look from Ranger Academy #4!
This is it. The big test. Sage will need to successfully perform her First Morph, but don’t worry–it will only take all of her skills, while surviving on a hostile planet known only as CHROMIA! It will take more than just her skills though, with teamwork being essential to reach the peak and acquire the means of Morphin time. But when the class bully runs into some trouble on the way, will Sage risk her test results to save him, or leave him behind? In this game-changing issue, fans are not going to want to miss out on the exclusive spoiler variant cover by Goñi Montes, featuring a surprise so big that we can’t show you the art!
Ranger Academy #4 features a main cover by Miguel Mercado (Magic) with variants by series artist Jo Mi-Gyeong, Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Yejin Park (Once & Future).
Many fans have been curious about which colour each first year cadet would obtain, with a second issue variant cover teasing Sage with blue text. Sage’s time in the library also added to suggestions that she may become a Blue Ranger.
However, as there are many hidden mysteries regarding Rhianth and the Green Campus, it will send fans into overdrive if Sage becomes the one cadet cast into a forgotten campus. It will be interesting to see if all five students will pass the first trial, along with the first look at their Ranger forms when they finally morph.
Ranger Academy #4 will be available in comic book shops on January 3rd, 2024. It is available for preorder at your local comic store. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including iBooks, Google Play and Kindle.

Fans and readers can purchase copies of Ranger Academy Vol 1 SC, collecting issues #1-4, in local comic shops on February 28th, 2024 and in bookstores everywhere on March 5th, 2024.
