This edition of the Power Rangers Hyperforce Recap will feature the first part of Chapter 5 as the team gain a new Ranger near the end of Season 1.
HyperRPG’s TTRPG series collaborated with Saban Entertainment to create a canon and original story of time-travelling Power Rangers as they face the Alliance of Evil. Each episode of the series was three hours long and featured many interactions with in-depth stories. With the upcoming release of Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce #1, we are going to dive into the final episodes that link into the comics, continuing from Episode 21.
Power Rangers Hyperforce is an original series created by HyperRPG as a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) live stream experience. The live stream aired as a web series on HyperRPG’s Twitch channel, featuring as a sequel to Power Rangers Time Force. In this unique format, a lot of the content featured in this Power Rangers series was often improvised and was affected by the audience during the live show. This includes the demand for a Sixth Ranger, leading to Yoshi Sudarso returning as a new Ranger for the final episodes of the series. The series ended as a cliffhanger as there were plans for a second season but the transfer of the brand to Hasbro ended the future of the TTRPG series.
Warning: The following overview of events doesn’t include significant moments of the Rangers individually. This includes detailed occurrences, in game outtakes, and character moments that would be lost to interoperation without watching, so ensure to check out Episodes 21 to 23 of Power Rangers Hyperforce for yourself.
Part 1 of the Fifth Chapter
This is the last chapter of the first season as Power Rangers Hyperforce ends its run on HyperRPG, with the final five episodes including a Sixth Ranger for the series. The first part of the chapter includes episodes 21 to 23, which feature Yoshi Sudarso as a new full time player portraying Joe Shih as he becomes Hyperforce Green. The episodes also feature the wedding of Nadira, the Corona Aurora, and even Vesper’s shocking death at the hands of the Alliance Leader.
A New Ranger Debuts

The Rangers continue their journey in their Hyper Time Ship with Marv noticing a tear in his arm and Vesper freaking out from her missing arm. Vesper receives a new 3D printed prosthetic arm coloured black and chrome, with Eddie assistance. As the Rangers come to terms with the odd changes, Marv notices data in the Ship that brings him to the conclusion that nearly a month’s worth of time is unaccounted for, with Alpha 55 discovering numerous messages from Joe. The messages reveal an upcoming wedding to Nadira, his vague meeting with Jen Scotts and Joe awaking on his wedding day with no recollection of missing time.
The Rangers travel to the year 3017 and scramble to prepare for the wedding, with Eddie leading and Chloe surprised by the food. As the Rangers mingle, Marv attempts to dance with many women but scares them off, leading him to ask Chloe why. Chloe instantly comments on Marv’s unsettling face after being caught secretly eating the wedding cake. The Rangers finally get to talk to Joe and reveals that he will be joining their mission to stop The Alliance of Evil on a permanent basis. The Rangers are then called by Alpha about Sentinel Knight calling for help, so the Rangers leave early and travel to the year 2007.

As the Rangers converse, Joe reveals that he was given a new Morpher by Jen Scotts and Chloe talks about her late parents. The Ranges arrive to find Sentinel Knight in the time zone at the Neda Waterfalls in Kyparissia. After learning the updated history of the Corona Aurora, the Rangers head to Aquitar with Sentinel Knight to the crown’s new hidden location. Elsewhere in the universe, the Alliance Leader recruits Lokar to the cause, with Scorpina, Belchanos and four mysterious aliens present. The Rangers arrive at a dormant Volcano on Aquitar, where they encounter two blue pig aliens from the Alliance.

Hydro Jr. And Hogz Jr are revealed to be the offspring of the Alien Rangers’ deceased foe, Hydro Hog. As the Rangers try to sneak up the volcano, Joe is spotted and has the water taken from his body, leading to Eddie using his water abilities to help him recover. Joe then morphs into the Hyperforce Green Ranger using his newly revealed Morpher and the Rangers fight until they defeat the pig like foes. Jack manages to recover the Corona Aurora with the Sentinel Knight and the team travel back to the year 2007, with time for a hologram dance between Nadira and Joe.
The Darkest Battle Takes Place

As the Rangers converse about the Corona Aurora, Sentinel Knight agrees to train Marv at the Neda Waterfalls until their session is interrupted by the monster, Doomstone, sent by ‘The Leader’. The monster then revives Shibarai and Beevil during his fight with the Rangers. Things start to escalate as the Rangers summon their Hyper Zords and ‘The Leader’ send Velchanos and a squad of Putties for the crown. Joe senses Sentinel Knight needs help and joins the fight as the team summon the Chronos Hyperforce Megazord. Marv tries to use Excelsior but realises it only work with artificial life, leading to Vesper using it to become the Black Sentinel Ranger.
Velchanos manages to steal the Corona Aurora from the Sentinal Knight, leading to ‘The Leader’ to arrive personally to claim it. The Alliance Leader drains the rest of Shibarai’s energy after his partial defeat, which destroys him. The Rangers attempt to recover but continue to suffer blows as ‘The Leader’ damages Vesper. Joe and Marv manage to take the Corona Aurora from Velchanos, with the help of Chloe and her Pheonix Hyper Zord. As the Rangers run, Vesper confesses her love to Eddie but the team are devastated from a strong attack from ‘The Leader’ and it obliterates Vesper.

Devastation Leads to Rebirth
Proud of power that killed Vesper, ‘The Leader’ escalates the battle further by creating a dark force field that prevents escape. The villain then attempts to make a deal with the Rangers, giving him the crown for Vesper’s body. As Eddie argues with Marv about the crown, Chloe jumps out her Zords and activates the Pink Battle Warrior mode. Jack is trapped outside the field and tries to break it open with his Zord but only damages it instead. Things get worse as Joe ends up being held by the throat during an attack, until Chloe hears a voice in her head and destroys the Corona Aurora with a full powered attack.
The Rangers combine all their powers and Zords to grab Vesper’s body and try escaping, as ‘The Leader’ feels pain from the Crown’s destruction. Alpha’s messages manage to break through and as ‘The Leader’ makes Velchanos grow, Alpha informs Joe that his Zord is ready. Joe summons the Hydra Hyper Zord that smashes the barrier, allowing the Rangers escape to their Time Ship. The Rangers form the Megazord with other Zords, with Alpha controlling the Cerberus Hyper Zord. After their Zords fight with Velchanos, the Rangers take Vesper’s body to the medical bay.

Elsewhere, ‘The Leader’ walks towards a mysterious man in a lab coat, who is surrounded by advanced Time Force Technology. As ‘The Leader’ admits his defeat, the man wasn’t concerned and revealed that the destruction of the crown proved his theory of a new timeline, since ‘The Leader’ is still alive and has altered his known history. As the Ranger come to terms with their experience and mourn Vesper, Vesper’s consciousness awakens in Alpha 55 and tells explains how it is possible, while trying to recover her memories from her old body.
The Rangers then come to terms with Vesper existing in Alpha 55’s body and consider how they can make her a new body. Nicknamed ‘Vespa’ by Joe, the Rangers check the timeline for energy from ‘The Leader’ and are informed about the Red Space Ranger, along with the United Alliance of Evil. They decide they should travel to Dr. Fericks laboratory in the year 3017 and contact Time Force to request help. After visiting the lab, the Rangers pick up potential allies to stop their foes in the year 1998. However, during the time period, ‘The Leader’ walks among the various leaders of the United Alliance of Evil at Dark Specter’s gathering spot. The villains meets Rita and Lord Zedd to inform them that Zordon must not be allowed to die as he removes his cloak.
