Just a few months after Avataro Sentai Donbrothers ended, the Zanglass Sword was announced to be getting a Memorial Edition release. This too will be a Premium Bandai item that follows the release of the the Memorial Donblaster which is set for a November 2023 release.
Similar to the Memorial DonBlaster, the Zanglass Sword will also have an increase in size with the removal of screw holes and a hidden battery compartment. The Sword will also have better lighting. The Don Onitaijin Gear that comes with the sword activates a special sound in the Memorial Donblaster.
Avataro Sentai Donbrothers debuted on the March 6th, 2022. The theme of Donbrothers is based on the Japanese folktale of Momotaro. Momotaro is a boy who was born from a peach and was found by an elderly couple. As Momotaro grows up, he vows to protect his village from the Oni. In this tale, Momotaro befriends a Monkey, a Dog and a Pheasant who also help him fight the Oni.
Zanglass Sword Memorial Edition Set
The Memorial Edition of the Zanglass Sword will have an increase in size by 140%, making it more show accurate for any adult fans or people who would rather own a full sized version of the weapon. In addition to the size increase, Bandai has taken notes from the Donblaster and other Memorial Edition releases by removing the screw holes and has added a hidden battery compartment to make the appearance resemble the one we see on the show. The Zanglass Sword will feature better LED lighting to better match what you see on the show.
Moreover, by using the Memorial Zanglass Sword with interlocking infrared feature on the Memorial Donblaster, it will unlock twelve special attacks for each Sentai team after Gokaiger. This is exclusive to the Memorial Edition.
There is also the bonus of an exclusive Don Onitaijin Gear which can also unlock special sounds when being used with the Memorial Zanglass Sword and Memorial Donblaster.
The memorial will also include three BGM soundtracks:
- Tsuki Nomizo Shiru
- Sakuretsu! Hissatsu Ougi!!
- Tokiniha Butsukari Au Koto Mo

As we have seen with other Memorial Editions, the Zanglass Sword will also include lines from the characters including the six Donbrothers and Sonoi.
This will be a good opportunity for fans to get their hands on the weapon especially since Donbrothers was a big hit within the fandom. On a similar note to the DX Donblaster, the DX Zanglass Sword was also significantly smaller in comparison to the one we see on the television show so getting a Memorial Edition of the changer will allow fans to pick it up for show accuracy.
Today in Japan at the NARIKIRI WORLD STORE, the Memorial Zanglass sword makes an appearance alongside it’s DX counterpart and the Memorial Donblaster, giving fans the chance to see how the Memorial item compares against the DX version.
