Just a few days after Avataro Sentai Donbrothers ended, the DonBlaster was announced to be getting a Memorial Edition release. This too will be a Premium Bandai item that follows the release of the Geardailinger which is set for a July 2023 release.
The DonBlaster will have an increase in size with the removal of screw holes and a hidden battery compartment. It will also come with a set of Avataro Gears which include the pre order bonus of the KingOhger Robotaro Gear.
Avataro Sentai Donbrothers debuted on the March 6th 2022. The theme of Donbrothers is based on the Japanese folktale of Momotaro. Momotaro is a folktale about a boy who was born from a peach who was found by an elderly couple. As Momotaro grows up, he vows to protect his village from the Oni. In this tale, Momotaro befriends a Monkey, a Dog and a Pheasant who also help him fight the Oni.
Don Blaster Memorial Edition Set
The Memorial Edition of the DonBlaster will have an increase in size by 125% making it more show accurate for any adult fans or people who would rather own a full sized version of the changer. In addition to the size increase, Bandai has omitted screw holes and has added a hidden battery compartment to make the appearance resemble the one we see on the show. The DonBlaster will feature the core five Avataro gears, a Don Robotaro gear and a KingOhger Robotaro gear, which is a pre-order bonus.
This will be a good opportunity for fans to get their hands on the changer especially since Donbrothers was a big hit within the fandom! As for most DX toy releases, the DX DonBlaster was substantially smaller in comparison to the one we see on the television show so getting a Memorial Edition of the changer will allow fans to pick it up for show accuracy. The pre order bonus – the KingOhger Robotaro which made an appearance in Don 45 – will be exclusive to the Memorial DonBlaster release.
The BGMs and other features that will come with the changer has yet to be revealed. It is also yet unknown whether the Memorial DonBlaster will be compatible with the DX Omikoshi Phoenix due to the size increase. As we have seen with the Memorial Geartlinger and Zenkaiju Gear, they were not compatible due to the size difference so it is possible that it may not be compatible. Perhaps there could be a Memorial Omikoshi Phoenix to complement the memorial changer.
It is also left unknown that if that this release will be compatible with the DX Zanglass Sword. However, the mechanism for this works differently to the Omikoshi Pheonix as it does not need to be attached to the changer. A Memorial Edition of the Zanglass Sword is also something highly desired within the fandom.
Avataro Sentai Donbrothers Memorial DonBlaster is expected to release in Japan in November 2023. As with most Memorial items, this is a Premium Bandai release so keep all ears open regarding pre orders and updates/
