Always one of the most anticipated moments of the tokusatsu calendar is the debut of the additional warrior. This year’s sixth for Ohsama Sentai KingOhger has been revealed!
We have finally reached that time of the year again where the additional warrior has been revealed! This additional KingOhger will be a white spider warrior who has been revealed to be called SpiderKumonos. SpiderKumonos is a white warrior with black and gold accents. His suit also stands out in comparison to the other KingOhgers as he has a gold spider on his chest. He also lacks a mantle and, in its place, he wears a black waistcoat that resembles a spiderweb.
SpiderKumonos
SpiderKumonos uses a set of keys which enable him to transform and unlock many other mechanisms.
The white and gold key is called the Henshin Key. As mentioned in the name this specific key enables SpiderKumonos to henshin into his KingOhger form. To transform, the user inserts the Henshin Key into the KumonoSlayer. The KumonoSlayer is a bladed dagger like weapon with a purple tarantula adornment. The keyhole can be found on the back of the purple tarantula on a silver coloured platform. When inserting the key, the legs of the tarantula open up.
The purple key, which is called the Venomix Key, enables the user to spray an insecticide like spray onto the target. This attack can be launched using the Venomix Shooter. This weapon resembles a can of insecticide that an exterminator uses to kill pests.
The final key is the Shugod Key, coloured black and white. As the name suggests, this particular key enables the user to summon their Shugod. However, it is unknown whether SpiderKumonos will either transform into his own Shugod or not.
Jeremy Brasieri
SpiderKumonos, whose real name is Jeremy Brasieri (ジェラミー・ブラシエリ) is portrayed by Masashi Ikeda (known for his role as Akai Ringo) with his suit actor being Masashi Takada who played Kijibrother and many more rangers. He is set to make his first onscreen appearance in the 11th episode of the show, premiering on the May 14th. However, the character has been present since the beginning of the series as the storyteller of the KingOhger legend. Despite his pacifist nature and distaste for conflict, he holds a mysterious position in the battles between the KingOhgers and the Bugnarak.
According to Ikeda, the character’s role as a storyteller influences his communication style, which often requires those around him to interpret his intentions. This leads to difficulty in understanding him and communicating with others.
Ikeda shares the same agency as Kohaku Shida, who previously appeared as Haruka Kito/Oni Sister in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. The two were able to meet and rehearse lines together. The actor Ikeda also spoke about Jeremy.
I think he’s a storyteller and he loves to talk and joke around. He is a pacifist character who dislikes conflict more than anyone else. Jeremy is a person who is very relaxed and enjoys talking with people, so I want to always show that kind of charm.
Ikeda also tells us as viewers to ‘read between the lines’ as this character will be a vital plot point.
