Genba Bureki was featured in all episodes and was revealed to be the master of procurement. Whereas Jou featured a cop with comic relief, Genba was a mysterious character that obtained anything that Taiya Hando needed or desired, without worry of cost.

Boonboomger #7 Forces Genba to Cut into Action as BunOrange

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger debuts BunOrange as Genba chooses to join the team in episode #7. The episode features the final addition to the main team as Block Wall Grumer proves to be a significant challenge when fighting with General Mad Rex. The episode features a perfect set up for the fifth hero, while also adding many fantastic shenanigans and fight scenes. Fans were also treated to the debut of Boonboom Robo Builder, with the debut of two new Car Series additions.

Delivery of a Memorable Debut

Genba has always been a fan favourite tease to episodes but now has finally debuted as the long-awaited BunOrange. The episode has greatly established Taiya’s desire for Genba to join but has also added a nice shenanigan with Bundorio. Satoru Soma has always performed with a captivating essence, but he was given a major spotlight in his premiere episode. This includes sharing his desire to keep watching the team develop, but the icing was the exchange between himself and Haruhi Iuchi that set up the story.

The episode featured a natural chemistry between Haruhi and Satoru but also perfectly established how Genba’s usual acquisitions no longer keep up with needs, forcing him to directly drive into the action. The transformation method also added a unique flare and reminiscent of ZyuOhger’s ZyuOh The World with the knee hit activation. This natural way of introducing BunOrange via story has created a stronger impact, causing fans to change their favourite colour to orange. His skills were still on display as he had a trampoline and mirror in hand, showcasing and teasing his great ability to analyse a situation.

Drama That Pushes Out a Need For Speed

BunOrange was given a brilliant road to travel down as the need for the debut was given fuel on two fronts. This includes the unnecessary need for Genba’s usual procurement methods, but also the overwhelming power of Mad Rex when combined with the new monster. The episode also greatly illustrated how nasty the wall construct power is as many citizens were blocked from family and even from escaping. This is one of the most effective monsters so far in the series but even set a balanced foundation for the need for Genba to use his Boonboom Booster.

Combat and Unexpected Comedy

The fight scenes for the whole team were perfectly on show, adding to a satisfying episode and new hero debut. This includes the range of abilities every member uses and even some fantastic finisher moves. The team were also granted a fantastic moment of teamwork as they were in sync to deal with attacks from all sides, making this episode highlight their overall development so far.

However, Block Wall Grumer also brought an unexpected twist on the team’s powers as BunBlack and BunPink skid along the floor after tripping, showing great diversity in the effects and use. The great disguise of Bundorio also added to the light layer of amusement for the episode startup, with drama and combat layered on flawlessly. There was also great chemistry involved with shenanigans the surprising love of Belora from Bundorio, which even featured a great surprise from the team, and bonding between the character and Genba.

Car Series Debut and Slamming Robo Fight

The Car Series debut of Boonboom Shovel and Boonboom Dozer also featured some great surprises in the episode. This includes the different angles of BunOrange entering his vehicle, adding a difference to the usual entry animation. The battle with Yeiyei was also shorter but also made sense due to the abilities of the shovel. The debut of Boonboom Robo Builder was also a big feature since it features the little droid as seen for the toy, also revealing the head of Bundorio like it’s stored for the deluxe line.

The Robo formation also had some great action scenes against the giant Black Wall Grumer. This included the scanning ability to find a weakness, which also perfectly links to the suggested ability that Genba has for analysis. As a great addition to the scene, it enabled the smashing ability of the new formation to stand out beyond expectation. As a little added joy, there was also a haiku poem moment interjected from the destroyed Kurumaju that kept the shenanigan theme reoccurring.

As a well layed episode that brings out a fantastic new hero for the team, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episode 7 a total of 10 out of 10.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will return on Sunday April 21st, 2024, with episode #8 airing exclusively in Japan. The 48th Sentai series will now feature all five members of the team, with more features to debut as the series progresses.
