The Sentai Summary: Boonboomger Episode 4 Confronts Vigilante Publicity

Sentai Summary: Boonboomger

Bakuage Sentai Boonbomger adds intensity as BunPink is arrested, and the team must confront their rising publicity. The fourth episode of the 48th Sentai series has introduced Saibu, while also setting up Jou for his Boonbooming future.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger is progressing further as it slowly provides more details regarding the backstory of the characters. It was previously revealed that BunBlack and BunOrange will eventually join the team, which will be police officer Jou and procurement expert Genba. The previous episode featured the first new Boonboom Vehicle as Boonboom Classic debut for the Robo to gain a sword. As the series continues, more debuts are expected to follow, including the two new members that will start with BunBlack.

Fans of the new series were also teased with further information regarding the fifth member of the team, along with some interesting facts. This includes the reveal of an International Space Agency, which monitors space life forms. As Mira is captured for questioning, Taiga directly confronts the authorities just as another threat from the Hashiryan makes them decide their route.

Boonboomger Tackles Publicity and Authoritative Conflictions After BunPink Arrest

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger takes an expected twist as the team becomes too renowned to avoid contact with the ISA (International Space Agency). This leads to BunPink being arrested by Officer Jou, despite just saving a ball chasing kid from being hit by a truck. The episode features Agent Saibu and the first direct reveal of the team as civilians. The episode also debuts Sauna Grumer, with some teased details revealed about the Hishiryan as they try to develop their own TV headlines. This is also a brilliant episode that establishes bonds and even lines up Jou to join the team for his upcoming debut.

Joys and Surprises as Characters Complicate Mix

The quick transformation of Mira to save the kid is given a hard right turn when arrested by Jou. This leads to a debut and talks with Saibu, who is revealed to be working for the ISA, a group that investigates aliens. Taiga soon communicates via the Boonboom Changer, with all the scale tipping facts provided by Ishiro. The level of Taiga’s wealth is further highlighted and is also revealed to be inherited. It was the greatly defined positions of the team that allowed them to stand up against the authorities, with the will to take the driver’s wheel no matter what anyone says.

We also see a great character show two sides as the tempered Saibu drops her guard when the curry loving Bundorio provides her with many dishes. The most delightful change is when she reacts to the alien referring to her as ‘pretty’. The villains also gave us some nice little pattern shakers, including Ittasha struggling to create a Kurumaju from the sauna heater. The struggle was a great little bit of amusement as she kept getting stun from the heat, but still managed to persevere with the key.

Defiance Of Authority For Kindness

Saibu had a clear directive to desire control of the Boonboomger team for the ISA. Thanks to Mira and Taiga, they now had information and identification of the Hishiryan rather than being unaware of the unknown alien threat. However, the big clash occurred when the attack from Sauna Grumer caused friction as Taiga refused to forfeit the team for ISA control. Jou was also put to the test as his conscience from ‘calls for help’ overrode commands to arrest the heroes. The direct call from Genba to acquire the team to help also showed that he cared for the people, with everyone calling for the Tyre People in the sauna heat.

This entire composition of authoritative clashing with Taiga’s way of life was brilliantly presented as powerful. The moving words of Taiga for driving towards calls for help proved he was the right person to lead the team and choose its members. It was also a surprise to hear that Saibu wanted to take away the roles that Mira and Ishiro earned, further illustrating that it was Taiga’s view of them that led to their positions on the team. Out of all the episodes so far, this has been one of the most character centric dramas in an episode despite the nice lining of humour and action.

Heated Action, Powers Ignited

The fight against Sauna Grumer was highly heated more than expected as the trio delivered fantastic, empowered attacks against the Nejiretta. Fans also got to see some surprising attacks from the BoonBoom Handle as the horn can be used for booming sonic attacks. The heat from the Sauna Grumer also led to a charge up for the team, including a spectacular and diverse finisher. It was incredible how many different forms of attacks could be performed, with the driving theme present in so many awesome strikes.

Teasers of Orange and Boonboom Facts

Fans were given the first preview of the Changer belonging to Genba, revealing he already can transform. The debut of BunOrange is a highly anticipated appearance but this suggests his recruitment didn’t just involve procurement. We also have concrete facts that little General Yeiyei is possessed and affected by the Gyasolin, causing his personality to change until he is forced to expel. We finally now have Jou join the team, which is a result of Saibu’s decision to work with Taiga. Once again, Taiga chooses those that appeal to his views, leading to Jou joining as an overseer for the ISA.

For such intense collisions of character and great teasers for the next episode, we give episode #4 of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger a total score of 7 out of 10.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episode 5 will air on March 31st, 2024, exclusively in Japan via TV-Asahi. The next episode will debut of BunBlack as Jou becomes a new full member of the team.
