What’s up, Riders! Ethan’s back with another serving of Gavv for your appetites! This time we have caramel, mantis and pudding!

Recaps

Episode 31

This episode sees Hanto and Lakia work together. After both, separately, being put onto the trail of a Granute, the pair quickly learn that this Mantis Granute has the ability to shoot quick hardening goo which binds their hands together. In a rematch with them, the pair learn that the Granute’s blade slashes can break them out of the goo but, when the pair go in for the kill, it’s revealed the Granute escaped last second. Having a moment to look at the slash attacks on a nearby tree, Lakia releases this could be the Granute who killed his brother

Meanwhile, Shoma revisits a sweet shop, tries some caramel and ends up getting into a fight with Lizel’s Butler, one of her father’s minions, and is invited to go have a talk with her.

Episode 32

Shoma’s talk doesn’t last long. Lizel basically just informs him she’s Stomach Inc.’s new CEO and thanks him for making Jeebh such a wet cat of a person as she finds that cute. Meanwhile, Lakia and Hanto are fighting the Granute, while Shoma will be fighting an Agent and grabbing the pressed people.

Speaking of, Lakia and Hanto go to Suga’s old base and Lakia’s new home to regroup and bond over the pain Stomach has caused them. Coming together over their shared pain, they set of for their rematch and they win, obviously, but the Granute reveals in their last moments that… it wasn’t him that killed Lakia’s brother. I mean, I think it goes without saying, yeah, no duh. It’s almost definitely Glotta that did it. They meet up with Shoma and celebrate another job well done.

Meanwhile, Nyelv meets up with Gruncle Dente. The meeting doesn’t go how he hoped and gets the okay from Bocca to alter the one contributor guy from a few eps back into the new Kamen Rider Bake.

My Thoughts

This was a fun couple of episodes. Hanto and Lakia’s dynamic is fun and it’s great to see them play off each other, as always the fights have been amazing. It’s been a enjoyable two parter, only let down a little by how clearly not this Granute it is. It’s definitely Glotta, the other aquatic themed Granute that uses a big blade to fight and is part of the main antagonists. When everyone starts paring off for dramatic fights, Lakia has this one.

The Conclusion

As I’ve already said, this was a fun set of episodes but they do a great job of resetting emotional momentum for us to hit another high next week, as Shoma gets his final form and battles… Granute MC MouthEyesFace? Are you for real? He gets to be a Rider? Not a single female character gets to? This guy? I’m sure it will be a good episode regardless but it’s still a weird pick. Like, I get it you don’t wanna blow your antagonists in the final form debut so you need some redshirt to get exploded but like… this guy? For real?!

Anyways, what do you think? Did you enjoy the two partners? Do you agree with me that it’s probably Glotta that killed Lakia’s brother? Are you hyped for Kamen Rider Granute MC MouthEyesFace’s debut? Let me know down below! As always, I’ve been Ethan: Writer, reviewer and hand goo expert for The Toku Source and I’ll see you next time!
