Super Sentai 50th Anniversary Exhibition Announced

An ‘All Super Sentai Exhibition’ will tour nationwide across Japan, starting in August 2025! We’ve got all the details!

I love Super Sentai. I love the suits, the giant robos, the henshin devices, and the neverending amount of rollcalls that I find myself repeating on a daily basis while washing the dishes (cue an awkward situation where my partner walked in on me proclaiming “Ryu So Cool”).

So, fortunately for me, and many others I presume, I can experience all the joys and the colourful escapades of these spandex obsessed freaks in person, thanks to the newly announced ‘All Super Sentai Exhibition’, to commemorate the franchise’s 50 year long run.

As part of the recent ‘Himitsu Sentai Gorenger Secret Premium Event’, the stars of Sentai’s first ever show reunited to express their gratitude and admiration for reaching such an impressive milestone. The event featured a live performance of Gorenger battling their nemesis Baseball Mask (who really should just give up coming back by this point), with the actors reminiscing on the history of Super Sentai afterwards.

At the very end of the show, fans were treated to the reveal of the ‘All Super Sentai Exhibition’, which will open its doors to excited visitors at the Tokyo Dome City: Prism Hall, in August of 2025, before going on a nationwide tour.

The website for the event claims that over 500 items will be included, ranging from props, costumes, mechas, to even miniature displays. Visitors will get to experience the history of Super Sentai, all the way from the Showa Era, the Heisei Era, to the current Reiwa Era; with the ongoing broadcast of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger being the latest show to debut. If the Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition is anything to go by, this is guaranteed to be a trip worth making.

Though there are plenty of ways to experience Super Sentai history across Japan, this is the first time an exhibition devoted entirely to the franchise has been established, especially on such a grand scale. While the costumes of all the current Red Warriors can be viewed at the Toei Studio Park in Kyoto, for such a huge celebration it’s entirely possible the ‘All Super Sentai Exhibition’ will feature the suits of each member of every Super Sentai team thus far – it has ‘All Super Sentai’ in it’s name after all!

Nevertheless, if you happen to be visiting Japan before August (like I am), the Super Sentai display at the Kyoto Toei Studio Park is a great alternative to August’s 50th anniversary exhibition.
