SODO Sundays – May 18th, 2025

Enjoy a delicious dive into some more SODO Gavv! A couple more Ultra additions make their way to your collections soon!

Good day everyone! It’s certainly been a hot minute since the last SODO Sundays, right? And as The Toku Source winds its way down, our time together grows ever shorter. Never fear! We’ve got a pretty solid selection for you to feast your eyes on today.

First up is a look at three characters featured in the next Kamen Rider Gavv SODO set, then followed up with the latest CHODO Ultraman and Ultra Monster sets. There will also be a very brief focus on YUDO No.1 Sentai Gozyuger as well.

Without further ado, let’s dive on in!

SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #4

SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #3 was a pretty solid set and one I need to finish putting together myself! Granted, there’s still plenty of surprises and forms ahead in the second half of Kamen Rider Gavv’s season, which means more SODO is guaranteed.

So far, SODO Kamen Rider Gavv is shaping up to be a good one.

First up is Kamen Rider Gavv Over Mode! One of two forms achieved through using the Gochipod; the other form being Gavv Master Mode. Albeit, Master Mode isn’t featured in todays reveal but perhaps at a later time? Who knows…

The use of stickers here doesn’t seem too bad compared to a lot of past Super and Final forms, which is a breath of fresh air for many including myself.

Our next one spent too much time in the idea oven…

We have our second evil Rider in Kamen Rider Bake Breacookie Form! Kenzo Suga, filled with secrets and mystery now dons his own Rider form, complete with his Bakemagnum.

Be sure to attach the Bitter Gavv buckle to change this figure to Kamen Rider Bitter Gavv Breacookie Form!

Do you want fries with that? You’re certainly getting some with our next addition…

We have another Bitter Gavv form with the addition of BakiBaki Stick Form which I think is still to make an appearance? (I haven’t totally caught up on Gavv yet) The Gochizo was included with the Bitter Gavv DX Driver. This form will also come with the BitterGavv Blade; have fun interchanging the weapons between forms for more play & display options!

That’s gonna do it mostly on the SODO Kamen Rider Gavv side. Below is a look at the set so far…

Lastly, the Bandai Candy team have given us a little tease at what’s to come next…

SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #4 is due to release on Japanese shores in August 2025!

YUDO No.1 Sentai Gozyuger #1

As stated at the start of todays SODO Sunday, this is an extremely brief focus on Gozyuger. Back in March, there was a blacked out accessory belonging to GozyuWolf. That accessory has since been revealed! Hit the link below if you haven’t previously read or want a refresher on the upcoming YUDO No.1 Sentai Gozyuger.

Of course, it’s not a surprise at this point but the Wolf Deka River 50 is the accessory. As I’m not watching Gozyuger myself, perhaps there was a narrative reason they didn’t reveal it originally. You tell me!

Either way, look forward to YUDO No.1 Sentai Gozyuger #1 releasing in July!!!

CHODO Alpha Ultraman #13

According to the Bandai Candy team, today’s Ultraman reveals is only a partial amount. This isn’t the case with the Ultra Monsters though, as that’ll be the full set roster.

We take it to the max with who else? But Ultraman Max!!! He comes with his Maxium Cannon but the Max Galaxy will be part of the dreaded optional accessory pack.

Next up is Ultraman King; a very striking design that stands out compared to the historic plethora of Ultra designs. Ultraman King’s cape is seemingly removeable and he comes with his Baptism Ray while his King Hammer is part of the optional accessory pack.

X Gon’ Give it to ya with our last one…

Presenting Ultraman X, who comes with his Xanadium beam, while his more luxurious accessory, the Gomora Armour comes within the optional accessory pack. Though this accessory will really add some play & display value to him for sure!

With the heroes out of the way, we make our way onto the villains…

CHODO Alpha Ultra Monster #5

Up first is allegedly the most requested figure: Kanegon! Kanegon has appeared throughout the Ultra series as more of an ally but recently appeared in Arc, where they fought the titular hero. I honestly love the design, it’s so goofy and adorable. I don’t think I could stay mad if they attacked me.

And next up is allegedly the ‘second’ most requested figure: Jamila! A monster created on accident; a very sad fate for one man and all the ingredients for some good depth to an Ultra monster. The Bandai Candy team come in clutch to bring your favourite monsters to life in the most intricate ways.

Appearing once again in the CHODO line is Kyrieloid! The difference here is the updated repaint, adding more nuanced detailing to keep up with the standards of the ‘CHODO Alpha’ namesake! Something a little different too, being a monster with a more human physique.

Lastly, we have another returning monster with Melba! Like Kyrieloid, Melba has seen an updated paint job and is perhaps one of the biggest CHODO Ultra Monsters released thus far. Together with Kyrieloid, they will make fantastic additions to your Ultraman Tiga collection.

And that’s all for now!

Both CHODO Alpha Ultraman and Ultra Monster sets are due to release on Japanese shores in September 2025!
