Super Sentai finally has its time to shine! No.1 Sentai Gozyuger comes to the YUDO line! Get all of the details on another exciting and informative edition of SODO Sundays!
Good day everyone, Scott here with another dose of SODO Sunday to end your week on an exciting note. It’s a small one this week with only a single update but nevertheless, a great update. The team at Bandai Candy have finally given us our first look at the No.1 Sentai Gozyuger YUDO figurines releasing in the coming months.
Let’s dive on in…
YUDO No.1 Sentai Gozyuger #1
We’re a few episodes in with No.1 Sentai Gozyuger; all the initial merchandise has either been released or shown. Whereas the last Kamen Rider seasons have seen their respective SODO releases timed with the debut airing of the show, Sentai doesn’t seem as prioritised.
Regardless, the wait looks to be worth it
Quick look at the box design for these figures. In typical YUDO fashion, you’ll need two boxes to compose one Sentai figure!
Longtime fans and collectors of YUDO may have noticed the new ‘YUDO Logo’ on the box there. With the rising cost of materials, the price of YUDO has also gone up slightly, to a point it can no longer be considered a ‘Candy Toy’ but rather an ‘Assembly Kit’ like Minipla.
They better still come with the clover sweet! Can’t get enough of those things!
Here’s an initial look at all of Gozyuger in all their glory. The designs look really sleek and clean. I really dig them, so much that I really want to add them to my own collection as I was initially gonna pass on them.
Of course, they all come with their transformation devices though they unfortunately can’t turn into teeny tiny mechas. Sorry!
Like YUDO’s sister line SODO, weapons are included with each squadron member to add to your personal play or display options. No need for any optional accessory packs *shakes fist at SHODO line*.
You’ll also notice that Gozyu Wolf is missing from the weapon images! I wonder why that is…
Here we have a look at the ‘majority’ of contents within this wave of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger YUDO figures. Majority because one character is blacked out, along with Gozyu Wolf’s weapon.
My personal guess for the last mystery figure is the 6th member. With the timing of the set’s release date makes this a likely point when the squadron team will add their 6th member. As for the mystery weapon? No clue as I’m not currently watching Gozyuger. Perhaps you can tell me!
With the No.1 Sentai Gozyuger YUDO set, theres now an improved plastic colour coding and moulding to give the figures a much higher level of detail in comparison to previous sets. In typical YUDO fashion, a large range of articulation is very much present here with the Bandai Candy team claiming each figure will have 20 moveable parts.
Gozyu Unicorn is the only figure with a unique body mould as the token female squadron member. The Bandai Candy team have really achieved that strong female warrior physique, also paying attention to the male to female height difference.
Sadly, that’s all for use today! YUDO No.1 Sentai Gozyuger #1 is expected to land on Japanese shores in July 2025. In due time, we’ll no doubt see who the hidden character is along with Gozyu Wolf’s hidden weapon.
