Super Sentai’s line of deluxe mecha is expanding its roster of mix and match robots this year, with two popular additions stampeding onto the scene: Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger’s Daizyujin and Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger’s GaoKing.
Finally! It’s been some time since we’ve received any substantial news regarding the DXROBO Universe collection, following the initial announcement in August 2024. We’ve only had three mechas released so far, that being Go-Onger’s Engine-Oh, Gokaiger’s Gokai-Oh, and ToQger’s ToQ-Oh, respectively.
That number is steadily ramping up, however, as Zyuranger’s and Gaoranger’s signature robots are set to join their successors as part of the DXROBO Universe line. Hopefully, this is a sign that many more mecha are on their way this year, just in time for Super Sentai’s 50th anniversary and the premiere of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger.
What is DXROBO Universe?
For anyone who needs a quick catch-up on what DXROBO Universe actually is, this is a line of deluxe Super Sentai robo figurines, with a twist: swappable mix and match pieces for every mecha!
This means you can freely pick apart and combine any components in the DXROBO Universe toy line, opening the door for all manner of inventive and strange combinations.
With that said, let’s take a look at what to expect from the newest robos revealed for the brand!
Daizyujin
Zyuranger’s mighty God of the five tribes boasts an impressive amount of detail befitting that of the divine mecha. It comes packaged with the five robos used to combine into Daizyujin: Guardian Beast Tyrannosauras, ZyuMammoth, Triceratops, SaberTiger, and Pteradon.
These components of the mecha can be easily twisted and combined to make Daizyujin, and can just as smoothly be removed and reconfigured with other mecha in the DXROBO Universe toy line.
Wielding its sturdy Mammoth Shield and striking God Horn, DXROBO Universe Daizyujin will be available March 29th, 2025, priced at 5280 JPY.
GaoKing
Animals are Super Sentai’s bread and butter, so it comes as no surprise that one of the series’ most popular animal entries gets the DXROBO treatment. Built from the five core mecha GaoLion, GaoEagle, GaoShark, GaoBision and GaoTiger, this beastly robo sports more of the impressive moulding techniques and intricate paint jobs seen in the DXROBO Daizyujin figure.
Armed with the Fin Blade, DXROBO Universe Gaoking will be available for 5280 JPY, releasing May 3rd, 2025.
Picking these two mechas was a smart choice on Toei’s part; not only for the fact that these are two very popular robos in the Super Sentai series, but because it also capitalizes on the very prominent animal and dinosaur motifs present in 2025’s No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. Considering that 2025 is also Super Sentai’s 50th anniversary, it would make sense to start rolling out more DXROBO Universe releases of past mecha; to celebrate the franchise’s long running tradition of giant robos.
