SODO Sundays – January 26th, 2025

One is definitely not the loneliest number in this SHODO offering! Make a little ‘wiggle’ room in your Gavv collection for this peek at the next SODO wave!

Good day everyone! Scott here again with another SODO Sundays. Todays instalment isn’t a big one, but it’s still an awesome one with a look at the recently released SHODO-XX Set #10 as well as the first delicious addition to SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #3. So sit down, have your favourite beverage in hand and let’s dive on in…

SHODO-XX Kamen Rider #10

So we are finally here: The Final Destination. At least, the final destination where the name “SHODO-XX” is concerned. That’s right, SHODO-XX comes to an end but not the toyline itself. As the subheading suggests, one is definitely not the loneliest number here as we get not just one, but two versions of the OG himself: Kamen Rider Ichigo!

First up is my personal favourite colour scheme for the grandfather of all riders. This version, generally dubbed “Old No.1” features a sort of Cyan/Green mix that is very easy on the eyes. The S.H. Figuarts version is perhaps one of my favourite figures in my collection; I feel this will be the same for his SHODO counterpart.

Next up is the other Ichigo variant, dubbed “Old No.1 (Sakurajima Version)”. This version ditches the nice calm Cyan/Green mix for a much edgier; much darker Green. A nice alternative if you somehow missed out on the Shin Kamen Rider SHODO set. Either way, I’m happy for more Ichigo variants in my SHODO collection.

Now, if they want to find a way to release “The First”, “The Next” and 2016 variants of Ichigo in this line, I’d be a very happy fan!

Joining any of the Ichigo variants is his partner, the similarly dubbed “Old No.2” sees our Nigo in similar edgy dark Green armour.

The optional accessory pack also comes with a ‘kick effect’ piece for both him and Ichigo for awesome play or display options!

Now, we travel a little further into the contemporary with…

Kamen Rider OOO (Shauta Combo)! This cool true blue combination brings the killer whale, eel and octopus fusion to the SHODO line with their own shades of blue and the ability to combine with past Kamen Rider OOO forms in the SHODO-XX line

Of course, the electric eel whips will be part of the optional accessory pack!

Just some examples of the combinations you can make! Be sure to share your combinations with us in the comments or via social media!

We finally complete our collection of main OOO forms with Kamen Rider OOO (Putotyra Combo). To take full advantage of this release, you’re going to really need that optional accessory pack for the Ptera Shield, the Tail Dividers and the Medagabryu in both its ‘Axe’ and ‘Bazooka’ modes.

Alternatively if like myself, you own 2022’s SHODO Super Gokaiger set and are about to complete your Kamen Rider OOO form collection with SHODO-XX #10. You are now in a very unique position to have your OOO combos displayed as the transformed Gokaigers like so…

Pretty stellar way to kick off 2025; with a literal ‘BANG’.

There is no 6th Rider fig, only Mezool!

Our final Greeed and aquatic antagonist to pair against the Shauta Combo is none other than Mezool! Not much to say other than it’s been well crafted with great detail and given a cape made of soft parts to allow the arms a comfortable amount of movement.

If you have been keeping up with the Kamen Rider OOO side of SHODO-XX, you should now have an awesome Greeed collection with the addition of Mezool.

And with that, we come to the end of this set! Here’s one final look at the optional accessory pack…

Now, this set released last week on Japanese shores, so it’s too late to preorder but it may not be too late to secure it. Get in touch with us via Social Media or E-Mail. As usual, details are at the end of the article.

SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #3

Now, this one is very short (and sweet). Today we’re only taking a look at one figure which the Bandai Candy team have kindly revealed: Kamen Rider Vram Jelly Form!

Like the alternative Gavv food forms, Vram’s Jelly form will compose of a series of armour pieces that use the base Vram Pudding form to latch onto.

If like myself, you got Vram in this months SODO Gavv release and wondered what the heck this part was all about, it’s removeable to allow the Jelly (and perhaps other future forms) to latch onto the forearms.

Normally, this would also mean if you want to display both forms simultaneously, you’re going to need two Kamen Rider Vram Pudding forms, but that’s not the case this time, as another undersuit body will release in this set too. More Vram means every fan gets their just desserts!

Of Course, Vram’s Jelly form will go well for all your Kamen Rider Gavv play and display options.

And if you haven’t yet preordered the Stomach Inc. Agents that release in May, maybe consider it!

And that’s all for this SODO set. Which is honestly a little weird, since the Bandai Candy team teased us back in November 2024 with this form…

I reckon it’s very likely to appear in SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #3 along with Valen’s Doughnut form! We’ll find out soon though as SODO Kamen Rider Gavv is scheduled to release March 2025!
