The Sentai Summary: Boonboomger #38 & 39 Switches from Touching Sanseaters Moment to Dark Entrance of Fearsome Foe

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episodes 38 and 39 fleshes out the bond between the Sanseaters before unleashing a tense instalment with Spindo’s debut on Earth. The 48th Sentai features a new Yarucar and drama erupts as allegiances and reveals unfold.

Boonboomger adds impactful episodes to the series during the Final Lap that bring out the best of the villains. This includes Yeiyei’s choice to get stronger or to remain with her comrades, along with a new combination for BunViolet. However, a dramatic instalment soon follows as the worst of the Hashiriyan appears. This includes introducing Grantu Risk and Waruido Spindo, whom are finally arriving on Earth.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger enters the Final Lap as the run to the finish line features the boss of the Hashiriyan. Waruido Spindo is finally revealed as the big bad boss of the 48th Sentai, while also being a dramatic figure in Bundorio’s past. The Sentai series has also featured a lot of past Sentai as part of episodic features, including characters from Engine Sentai Go-Onger. Fans have more hype to look forward to as teasers begin to play out, this includes Gokaiger teased in the final lap poster.

The 48th Sentai adds must watch episodes as it progresses through the final lap. The episodes feature some fantastic new characters and debuts, testing the bonds of the Sanseaters and the first encounter with Waruido Spindo. New characters debut as significant additions to the story, such as Great Chief Officer Grantu Risk and Reika Sakurai as Maimi Baisu. The episodes also feature Byunbyum Mach Robo Go-On Custom as Engine Speedor helps BunViolet, plus Boonboomger Robo Champion Leo Rescue Custom.

Episode 38 Realigns the Sanseaters as a New Opportunities Tests the Trio

The 38th instalment of Boonboomger makes space for the Sanseaters as the trio prepares for Spindo’s arrival. The episode gives Yeiyei a choice between power or friendship when a new Yarucar enters the frame. The super elite obsessed character adds a new type of chaos to the trio and the Boonboomger team, with two Kurumajyu monsters wreaking havoc. The episode also features the debut of Great Chief Officer Grantu Risk and a Go-On formation with Engine Speedor and Byun D.

Yeiyei’s Opportunity Turns into Deeper Connection

The episode added a nice little boost to the Hashiriyan boss’ arrival just as they added more detail to the Sanseaters. It was great to see a flashback to the day that the trio met, making them more relatable as struggling individuals before becoming thugs. Weiwei gave the audience a little insight into Yeiyei’s history and her people. However, it was difficult to tell if it was true due to the self centred attitude of the character.

The demonstration of the Super Elite status was a great way to highlight how potent a Yarucar can be. Weiwei creating the duo guitar Kurumajyu was interesting but its effect around Japan was a brilliant hook for Yeiyei. The hesitance for Yeiyei to leave was magnified by Itasha and Decotrade showing support and sadness. Sakito perfectly entered as a way to push the decision, but it was amazing to see the two foes show way more strength than even BunViolet struggled with.

Boonboomgers Caught in Offset Ride

The team had less activity in the episode but was caught up in the actions of the Sanseaters. Their scene involving concern about spying from ISA perfectly fits the aftermath of the previous episode. However, the encounter against the Electric Guitar Grumer and Acoustic Guitar Grumer was more of a reaction to a Sanseater centric episode. The fight also had a great cinematic start and soon featured shifting favours. BunBlue was a highlight to the combat by shielding the team against the sound using the Marine custom.

The arrival of Grantu Risk cut up the expectations of the episode in a satisfying way. His debut was so memorable as he instantly proves his power against the heroes, adding tension to Spindo’s arrival. It was shocking how he converted both Kurumaju back into guitars and keys, rather than the monsters being destroyed in battle.

Merging Meaning with Events

One of the significant moments of the episode features Raito Naito as the Boonboomger Killer Robo invokes a response. It was teased that the mecha was being secretly mass produced by the ISA and Lightning Tech, but this input cements this fact. It was interesting to know that Decotrade keeps summoning their stock thanks to their Boonboom Danger. It was also fascinating to see that the drive of the characters can affect the power of the mecha. This was seen with Weiwei and the Sanseaters when they were reunited.

The power from Weiwei also granted the Killer Classic sword, which was a nice addition to the balance tipping. The mecha may have fallen short in the end but it was great to see the Killer Robo put up a great fight against Byunbyum Mach Robo. The finisher was also a nice addition, but it was a shame that it physically missed its mark after such a great visual. The arrival of Engine Speedor also granted a great flip against the power Sakito adversaries now possessed. It was also satisfying that the traitorous Weiwei gets hit by Speedor, adding more humour and memorable moments to the episode.

Episode 39 Features Dramatic Entrance of Waruido Spindo and Pulls All Threats Together

The boss finally makes his grand entrance on Earth as sinister acts put everything in motion. As the team finally meets Waruido Spindo, Shirabe Saibu is finally granted a better place in the spotlight. The episode finally releases the buildup relating to the ISA as circumstances become too clear for all to ignore. The episode also adds more intensity with the ability of the Sponge Grumer, along with the debut of a new character.

Saibu in Focus At Last

It was delightful to finally see Hashiyasume Atsuko in her own dedicated scenes as Saibu, just as Maimi Baisu made her appearance. Reika Sakurai portrays her to be happy-go-lucky but has an amazing contrast to her colleague. This is due to her light nature in plain view until she is revealed to have a serious and sinister tone when working with Eiichiro Tokoyari.

It was great to finally see her realisation of how corrupt the ISA must be, especially after discovering the Hashiriyan boss arrived without detection. Her heroism is also placed on display as she takes a risk driving the Boonboom Wagon to make her own delivery. The character has become a full member of the team during her time, which was delightful to see as part of her development.

A Slippery Foe Spells Disaster

The new Sponge Grumer was brought forth by Grantu Risk and its use could easily be applauded. The new monster provided some humours opportunities for more Jou antics but switched into a darker tone. The Sanseaters were also a nice opposition to this as they overly exerted their emotions in response to the general and their boss. Seeing them faint from seeing him was icing on the cake, especially as Risk states that Spindo is pleased with their resistance to defeat.

The battles soon turned dark as the true ability was revealed when Jou was absorbed, revealing the unbelievable plan from Risk of clearing the enemy before Spindo appeared. The tricky and Slippy nature made it easy to fool the audience as weapons and even Genba’s chain acquisition became unusable.

All members being absorbed, aside from Taiga, opened for an enhanced dramatic entrance for Waruido Spindo. It was also so potent to see Taiga stopped from Changing not long after powering down from Risk’s strike. After returning, it was humorous to see the team only wearing their helmets, which is a feature not often seen as a type of aftereffect.

Dark Flow Around Boss

ISA is finally confirmed to be working with Spindo, not long after Baisu’s allegiance with Tokoyari is revealed. Spindo decent was as perfectly impactful as an Evil Boss, but it was interesting to how tame Tokoyari was. His overall effect on everyone was clear as he seemed untouchable from start to finish.

It was also startling to see Raita Naito appear and greet him, setting up a bigger fall for Taiga when revealed to him. Spindo’s theatrical movements also have some significant similarities to Michael Jackson, adding his flare to this imposing villain.

The only thing that was missing from the episode was seeing any form of power from the boss to assert dominance. For now, most of his power is through fear and political manipulation, which sets him apart from other Sentai evil leaders. His effect on Bundorio is also clear as even the team are hesitant to let him go close to Spindo. It will be curious to see where his influence will lead now, that he is on Earth but mostly it will be interesting to see if he does fight.

Worst Reveal Before Conclusion

The most significant moment in the episode comes from the exchange between Taiga and Spindo. It was astonishing to learn just how much the Hashiriyan boss has corrupted Bundorio’s life revealing he controls the Big Bang Grand Prix. It was incredible seeing the rage from Taiga, adding to the loss of his Changer when Risk stepped in. This was followed by Saibu saving the team and even being hurt from not having a Boonboomger suit while driving, highlighting her true allegiance without doubt.

It was great to see her make this sacrifice for her friends, which brought the team back to defeat the Kurumaju. The final fights against the monster were fantastic to see too, including the finisher delivered by BunRed. It was fitting to then see a Boonboomger Champion Robo custom with the Rescue Leon. Seeing the water attacks was expected but it was amusing to see the Robo all clean after escaping the soap. Overall, this was an epic episode for the 48th Sentai and it keeps feeding amazing details that keep fans hooked.

For a great Sanseater focused episode featuring Yeiyei’s choice, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episode 38 a total score of 7 out of 10.

For an impact entrance of an evil boss that affects the entire story, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episode 39 a total score of 9 out of 10.
