Good day ladies and ‘germs’. The Doctor is in! More specifically, I’m in… here, with another SODO Sunday to soak your eye holes with and tempt you with another stellar release. In this case, we’ll be taking a look at the remaining characters in SODO Chronicle Kamen Rider Ex-Aid #1 after looking at Ex-Aid and Genm in the previous instalment.

So, lets henshin and dive right in…

“Laptop! Let’s Type! Metcha Type! Mutcha Type! What’s your Type? I’m a Toku Writer!”

With the Bandai Candy Team making separate blog posts for Kamen Rider Brave, Snipe and Laser, I’m gonna do my best to simply combine them in one.

“I will clear this article with no continues!”

Without further ado, lets start with the heroic, the stoic, the… er.. brave: Kamen Rider Brave!

As with Ex-Aid and Genm, plenty of paint details and sticker balance as per the SODO Chronicle line. I’m still really digging the translucent visor with the sticker underneath! While it’s no compound eye effect, it adds a somewhat ‘premium’ level of detail that a longtime fan of SODO like myself can appreciate.

Whether you’re admiring Brave from afar or close up, he’s going to be an epic addition to your display!

Compared to the original SODO Kamen Rider Brave released around the season’s airing, the colour scheme of the figure has been updated to be as close to the suit as possible, including the yellow-ish/green upper arm bands. The white stickers on the shoulder pads are also a new detail addition to make the figure closer to the show suit.

As mentioned in the previous SODO Sunday, SODO Chronicle Kamen Rider Ex-Aid characters will all come with their respective accessories. No need for any ‘optional’ accessory kits!

Brave’s Gashacon Sword is reversible, allowing you to switch between ‘fire’ and ‘ice’ mode with extreme ease.

Now, watch you don’t get caught in the crosshairs of… Kamen Rider Snipe!!

Probably the figure I’m looking forward to the most! Snipe has to be one of my favourite designs next to Genm (and every subsequent form of Genm). The SODO team did not disappoint with his translation to the toyline. My one gripe is that I kind of wish the cloak/cape was soft goods instead of plastic; an easy mod/fix for sure I reckon.

With the original SODO Kamen Rider Snipe, the cape was fixed and unmoveable. This is no longer an issue in SODO Chronicle. The right shoulder uses a unique two stage joint that’ll allow both the shoulder pad and cape to be attached to the same shoulder and allow both items to move freely independent from each other.

Of course, expect Snipe to come with his Gashacon Magnum, which comes in the set twice as both ‘handgun’ and ‘rifle’ mode!

And last (but certainly not least), the one who puts the ‘ride’ in Rider, Kamen Rider Laser!

The most important asset of the team, not only does Laser count as a Rider, but he counts as a vehicle for your other SODO Ex-Aid figures!

Important for play or display is having the axis articulated for any of your riders to change directions.

Not only that, but Kamen Rider Laser’s head is also articulated, allowing him to express as much as a half-man/half-bike possibly can…

Also, take note when assembling that both wheels are entirely different for each side of the bike. Don’t want ya’ll to rush in, make a mistake and risk damaging your favourite rider!

Once Laser is assembled, he’ll be ready to join the rest and assist them in finding out who that mysterious purple Ex-Aid is…

Also, enjoy this small gallery of shots courtesy of the Bandai Candy Team! Perhaps they’ll even inspire some of your own toy photography shots or personal displays! We’d love to see your own takes in the comments here or via our social media pages.
