The King of the Monsters appears to have another big collaboration on the horizon with hints that Monsterverse is crossing over with Rocket League, and maybe even Fortnite!
The tokusatsu fandom is no stranger to Fortnite crossovers but an upcoming collaboration, teased by notable Fortnite leaker @SamLeakss, appears to promise a big arrival, in more ways than one.
Taking to the app formerly known as Twitter, Sam posted the following information, showing that key Monsterverse iconography is already in long running, season based game, Rocket League.

The first thing to clarify here is that both Rocket League and Fortnite are both owned by Epic Games, so if one’s getting a crossover it would track that they could crossover with their other game franchises as well. Seeing what appears to be a Monarch symbol on in one teaser has lead to a lot of speculation (including from me, keep reading for that) of what a Monsterverse collab could look like. Of course, this should all be taken all of this with a grain of salt, since none of this is from official sources.

What could we possibly see from a crossover like this from either game? The potential of it being a Monsterverse crossover, not being only Godzilla, gives us a lot of options to speculate with. For starters, Rocket League will likely see customisable car parts/skins based on Godzilla, another kaiju (probably King Kong), and a Monarch based vehicle, as well as maybe a limited time themed arena.
For Fortnite, we have a lot more options, from the human characters to the kaiju, there are a lot of possible skins they could release. Could Godzilla show up as a map hazard of some kind? Will the Godzilla skins work with the new branded shoes they have in the game, allowing us to put Godzilla in basketball trainers as a call back to this?

Of course, all of this could amount to just some skins and maybe a themed creative map, but the fact it’s not just Godzilla but the Monsterverse as a whole makes me think there could be more to it than that. Very easily, I could see a lot of the early parts of the season’s story be players working with Monarch, building up to Godzilla making his appearance in the skin store and game as a whole, possibly as a way to change up the map mid season. What better way than to explain what wiped out Tomato Town than by having a kaiju show up and stomp though there?
To be honest, there’s way too little to go on at the moment to make any really solid prediction as to how this could all play out. That said, they are hot off a full season’s worth of “Dr. Doom and Marvel have taken over the Fortnite map,” throwing in the lame as hell Cybertruck in there too, so until we know for sure Godzilla will be running around Tilted Towers with a Chugjug, racking up a kill count, this is really the most we can speculate.
What do you think? If Godzilla is sitting at the end of next season’s Battle Pass are you going to grind it out? What other Monsterverse skins would you like to see? As always, I’ve been Ethan: Writer, reviewer and the real thing that wiped out Tomato Town. I’ll see you next time.
