Time to strap in for another Bakuage YUDO release with Boonboomger meanwhile, get ready to ‘game on’ with the latest SODO Chronicle release!
Good day everyone! Scott here with another SODO Sunday, a week after the previous! Crazy, I know but here we are. On todays instalment of SODO Sunday, we’ll be having a look at a couple of November releases; firstly a look at the second (and likely final) Boonboomger YUDO set, then a look at this months SODO Chronicle Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Set #1 (presumably).
So lets not waste any time and get stuck in…
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger YUDO #2

Having just released on Japanese shores last week, if you have put in your special orders here at The Toku Source, you should hopefully be expecting your set real soon – so exciting!
Anyhow, here’s a reminder of the lineup involved in this secondary YUDO set…

So, what do we get in this YUDO set? We get ‘BunRed 119’, ‘Bun Violet’ and the entire Boonboomger team in their ‘Champion’ Mode. On top of this, we get new hand gestures that allow for a range of expressions and poses, also allowing us to make the iconic ‘team pose’!

How cool is that?! That’s enough fanboying for now; Let’s get a closer look at what YUDO 2 has to offer.
BunRed 119

Keeping in tradition with the last YUDO set, BunRed 119’s helmet is nearly fully painted, with the exception of a sticker running round the back. It’s a somewhat sticker heavy figure and I’m not particularly a fan of the stickers for the pipes on the back, but it does help the figure stand out. Now on to, possibly, the addition I’m personally looking most forward to.
BunViolet

A slightly more ‘traditional’ addition, BunViolet takes your core team from YUDO #1 to the next level, advancing Boonboomger to its full strength. The mix of violet and yellow translate well into a toy and these shots are getting me hyped to take my own when my set arrives!

Of course, BunViolet comes with the necessary pieces to utilise the Boonboom Controller in both modes!

And like the Boonboomgers of YUDO #1, BunViolet can recreate their pilot form for controlling Boonboom Mach Robo!
Now lets dress to impress with the next bunch…
Champion Boonboomger

While looking both dazzling and slick, if you’re not a fan of the smaller stickers featured in these candy toys, this must be what your personal hell looks like! But, with a little patience, it’ll pay off for your Boonboomger display to be dripping with style.

Lastly, while I mentioned earlier about the new hand gestures, YUDO Set #2 will also come with alternative wrist pieces to simulate the removal of the Boonboom Changer as well as hand pieces to recreate the Boonboom change pose!
That’s gonna do it for the moment, but now it’s time to level up for…
SODO Chronicle Kamen Rider Ex-Aid #1

“Gashat! Let’s game! Metcha game! Mutcha game! What’s your name?”

“I’m a Kamen Rider!“
It’s been a long journey for SODO. Back in 2016, SODO released a few waves of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid candy toys to coincide with the season. Now Ex-Aid is back in the much more evolved SODO Chronicle and he looks better than he ever has.

For those who need to see the evolution of SODO for themselves, here’s a comparison with ‘2024’ on the left and ‘2016’ on the right! An improvement in every meaning of the word.

And where the original SODO Ex-Aid only had ‘holed’ fists with no articulation, todays SODO Chronicle Ex-Aid has closed fists, open hands, ‘henshin’ hands and more in traditional SODO Chronicle style.

Speaking of traditional SODO Chronicle style, with an increased level of paint detail, multiple stickers and even some clear plastic parts, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid has been beautifully recreated in the smaller SODO scale.

Don’t forget the weapons! You won’t need any ‘optional accessory’ kits for these as they’ll be included with the figure!
But let’s not forget…

The ‘cooler’ Ex-Aid

That’s right, Kamen Rider Genm is also featured in this set! In fact, there’s a lot more to look forward to but with this set releasing towards the latter half of the month, the Bandai Candy team want to build up hype for it’s release. So for today’s SODO Sunday, we’ll only be getting a look at Ex-Aid and Genm.

Even with just these two, there’s plenty of moments and battles to recreate for your own amusement. Plenty of ‘mighty action’ to be had!
But that’s all for now I’m afraid. A bit anti-climatic but an anti-climatic SODO Sunday is better than no SODO Sunday, I say! SODO Chronicle Kamen Rider Ex-Aid #1 is scheduled to release on Japanese shores around November 25th. There’s some time left to get any special orders in so don’t delay, order with us today!
One last thing for fans of Kamen Rider Gavv. I leave you with this image…
