Prepare to get wild with some SHODO Kyoryuger! Meanwhile, make some room for dessert in the next SODO Kamen Rider Gavv!
Good day, everyone! Scott here to bless your Sunday with another exciting, enticing and engaging instalment of SODO Sunday. Today we get a deeper look at the upcoming SHODO Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Set #1; in other words, the core team. On top of that, we get an early look at the next SODO Kamen Rider Gavv set, more specifically Gavv’s new ‘cake’ form. It looks to be a delicious addition to anyone’s collection!
Without further ado, lets get right into it!
SHODO Super Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Set #1
“History’s strongest braves! Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger!!!”
With the new year and January only a few months away, we get another look at the first Sentai SHODO Super set of 2025: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger! We’ll be looking at some of the accessories included as well as what to expect in the overall quality of the figures. They look great from a distance so far…
Close up, Kyoryu Red looks immaculate! From the consistent red to the yellow, the addition of the dino image and the black lines, it’s fair to say Bandai have put some serious attention to detail. They even made sure to cover the back! I half expected the dino image to be a sticker but it was done via pad printing. My hats off to the Bandai Candy team *applauds*.
In fact, the only sticker on the entire figure is strictly the buckle! The Bandai Candy team have even gone as far as painting the silver piece on the gloves which is more than what certain other companies would do for their 6 inch ‘collector’ line *cough cough HASBRO cough*
Of course, every Kyoryuger will come with their ‘Gaburevolver’ and ‘Gaburicalibur’ as well as specific pieces to combine them into the ‘Gaburu Canon’. As per SHODO Super tradition, the weapon details will be applied via stickers!
Not only will they have their main weapons, but each Kyoryuger will be able to ‘Arm On’ with their unique weapons…
That’s right! Each team member will have their specific Zyuden Arm and additional armoured arm piece to swap out. These of course, can form into the…
KENTAROSPIKER!!! As you can see, the SHODO Super set will come with plenty for you recreate any pose, shot, scene or moment from either Kyoryuger or Power Rangers Dino Charge for play or display! There’s a lot to look forward to this coming January.

SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #2
Now this is an exciting release…
If you have your finger on the pulse of the toku collecting community, then you’ll no doubt have seen Kamen Rider Gavv’s deliciously delightful new form. May I be so honoured to present…
‘Kamen Rider Gavv Caking Form’. A very sleek and regal design; it reminds me a lot of the KingOhger ‘King’ forms, especially around the head. Won’t be too surprised if we get a Kamen Rider Gavv X KingOhger crossover where one or the other gets some sort of crossover king form. The mix of white and red is to capture the essence of the strawberry cake that the form is based on but man, those red eyes go hard!
A king needs minions, right? Look no further than the ‘Whip Soldier’. These little guys can be army built to create an awesome Gavv Caking display. A nice bonus is that they use the Gavv base form and thus can also be used to attach the alternative Gavv form parts like Zaku Zaku Chips, Fuwamallow, etc.
Speaking of a “nice bonus”, another benefit of the Whip Soldier is this additional hand gesture which can be attached to your SODO Gavv for more pose options…
As far as Kamen Rider Gavv goes, that’s all for now. But wait! For SODO is take a couple of steps back and return to Kamen Rider Geats!!! No way…
WAY! SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #2 finally gives us candy toy fans access to Kamen Rider Geats Fever Boost Form!!!
It gets a whole lot better from here though…
Some may remember the ‘Premium SODO’ sets that started at the beginning of Gotchard’s SODO wave with the extra paint and compound eye effect that ended just as quickly as it began. Well for those wishing Geats could get the same treatment, look no further; this set will be coming with a Geats ‘Magnum’ form head with clear compound eyes! You can now upgrade your original SODO Geats figure.
I personally hope to see more of this in the future.
Lastly, what better way to cap off this SODO set?
Oh I dunno… maybe with the gottdamn Boost Striker!!! This bike was sorely missing during the SODO Kamen Rider Geats wave and I’m very happy to see it getting added in now. According to the Bandai Candy team, it’s been requested with every release since Geats. At least they delivered eventually; our prayers have been answered.
While the set is lacking on the Gavv side and I’m generally looking forward to more SODO Gavv, the Geats additions have made this a very desirable set for me personally. I’m really excited for this!
That’s gonna do it for now though. SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #2 is expected to release on Japanese shores January 2025!
