Snacks up, Riders! This week’s Gavv served us double the chocolate, more fish then you would think and some Italian cuisine, too! Let’s tuck in!
Recap
We pick up with Shoma having saved the sculptor, freeing her from her compressed form and sneaking off behind a wall to detransform before coming back, as to not scare her. Meanwhile, Valen gets beaten down so hard he becomes a ganache, getting knocked out of his transformation in his second fight.

Shoma and the sculptor return to the old lady’s mansion and explain how a monster attacked her. Sachika deflects and doesn’t tell the truth about why she’s covered in paint; if you remember, last week, the painter got upset and threw paint over her when she tried to cheer him up. Later, before she clocks out for the night, Shoma tries to talk to her about it and she leaves upset.
Meanwhile, Suga exposes to Hanto about the Granute’s ability to take human form, likely having multiple human disguises they can swap between. During all that, Jeebh and Shita get fired by Lango, who also gives Nyelv a budget increase to experiment with new abilities to give the Granute part timers, a thing he was already doing.
The next day, at the mansion, Shoma finds Hanto, who’s there to ask the sculptor some questions. Shoma makes up some excuse and shuts the door on him. Ever persistent, Hanto waits around for them to leave so he can try again and sees an Italian art dealer. Meanwhile, back at the Hapipare, the old lady arrives to apologize for the painter, explaining that he confessed off screen. This prompts Sachika to explain why she didn’t chew him out when he threw paint over her; seeing her attempt to cheer him up fail brought back memories of all the times she failed to cheer people up in the past, deflating her.
The next day, Sachika and Shoma spot Hanto outside and he explains to the pair he believes the Italian art dealer is a Granute. They form a plan to check: Shoma spills tea on him and lifts his top up. With the truth out, he transforms and the boys make excuses to go after him. Hanto catches him and transforms shortly before Shoma arrives and does likewise.

Meanwhile, Sachika has a heart to heart with the painter who, understandably, is upset to find out the only recognition his art has gotten has been from a monster that was lying to him. She takes a paint can, joining the boys in the toku warehouse (you know the one) and throws the paint over the Granute, which clues the boys up on the upgrade Nyelv gave him way back in the opening scenes of last week’s episode: the power to make clones of himself. Armed with this knowledge, well, you know how it goes…

Sachika snaps a selfie with our boys and they sneak off to detransform. Before they leave the mansion for the final time, the painter gives Sachika a painting she said she likes as a thank you for chewing him out when he needed to hear it. The trio walk home through a location from the opening credits and the Rider pair try to convince Sachika to stay out of Rider business as the episode comes to a close.
My Thoughts
I loved everything about this! The dynamic fights, the choco gunslinging duel wielding tag team, the twist with the clones, Shoma sneaking off and detransforming when freeing someone to not risk freaking them out, Sachika popping off at the monster of the week. Iconic episode. No notes.

Conclusion
Gavv continues to serve up amazing treats and is keeping the positive momentum going week to week. Next week, we finally get the lollipop form. I guess this means the next episode/maybe two parter should bring us to an end of the moments used in the prerelease trailers, which is cool. I can’t wait to see what Gavv has in store for us next!
