Snacks up, Riders! We have another Gavv review for you this week and, this time, we have paint, chocolate and the first meeting between our heroes! Exciting! Let’s jump in!
Recap
Picking up from last week’s episode, we open on Shoma following Hanto while the two transformed heroes talk. They settle on their “Ridersonas” and that they will both keep an eye on each other.

Over at Stomach Inc’s factory, Nyelv makes modifications to a part timer.
After the opening, we see the Hapipare handymen duo arrive at their latest job: cleaners for a old rich ladies mansion. After showing them around, we are introduced to the two artists (a sculpture and a painter) that the old lady is the patron for. We also get a montage of Shoma’s strength, leading our boy to break things and cause Sachika to recommend he stays behind on the second day they are cleaning, promising to teach him the basics when she’s done.

Over with Shitta and Jeebh, their older sister Glotta shows up, chastising them for a drop in shipments. The twins want to hide Shoma and blame their part timers for it, so Glotta takes off to chastise them instead.

Later that night, the Zakuzakuchips Gochizo Shoma left with Dente shows up and he takes off to have a word with his great uncle. Dente gives him this season’s Rider phone, which they don’t name it in the episode so I’m gonna call it his Gavvmunicator till they do. As well as doing normal phone calls, Shoma’s new phone can play and display what a Gochizo has seen, if he plugs one into it. Top that, Android!

The next day, the old lady tells Sachika about an art dealer that arrived and scouted the sculptor, much to the painter’s frustration. Back at the handymen offices, Shoma finishes building a little house for his minions to hide in – the Maison Gochizo – as Hanto arrives, checking if Sachika has any leads for him. The pair talk a little and, while trying to keep their identities a secret, they quickly leave. Without info from Sachika, Hanto decides to search for leads the classic way. As he does, a Gochizo Shoma set on patrol shows up and he sprints off to deal with the art dealer.
Confronting the art dealer on his connections to Stomach Inc, the pair transform and do battle. After their fight moves locations, Hanto arrives chasing leads and sees the mess. Just then Glotta arrives, mistaking Hanto for their part timer. He transforms and the episode ends with Hanto charging in.
The Bad
This time around, I do have a very small complaint. During the initial fight with the art dealer Granute, there were plenty of times where the Poppin Gummy… armour? fleshy bits? look like they should have come off. With the visual effects used, it gave that impression but it didn’t appear to. Maybe they need the detachable suit for a movie or something. Who knows, but it was a little disappointing to see.
The Good
All of it, really. For Gavv’s first two parter, this sets things up nicely with plenty of great character moments throughout. I especially loved Hanto and Shoma’s inner monologue, revealing what massive goobers they are, while trying really hard to play it cool. The Chocodan Gochizo ousting the Poppin Gummy Gochizo to get Shoma to transform into the new Choco form was very unexpected!

Conclusion
Another great episode and I can’t wait to see, what looks like, our first Gavv/Valen team up fight next week! Gavv continues to be really strong and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
