Ride on for some SODO and SHODO Kamen Rider news and clear some more ‘boom’ on your shelves for Boonboomger’s second YUDO wave!
Good day, everyone! Scott here with another SODO Sunday after like… a month! I know, I need a more regular fix of toku candy toy news too! Alas, we have plenty to go over today. First up, I’ll be taking a look at Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger YUDO #2, following it up with a little Gotchard related SODO news before rounding it off with this months upcoming Kamen Rider SHODO release!
Lets dive on in…
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger YUDO #2
With us well into the second half of Boonboomger, its about time we got that second YUDO set, right? The news of this set is a good couple of weeks old, but I couldn’t dedicate a whole SODO Sunday to one little set, could I?
Either way, better late than never and for those who haven’t seen these yet, get excited! It’s one stellar looking YUDO set.
First up is BunRed 119! Taiya’s upgraded Boon Red armoured form that resembles a firefighter in costume motif. It’s probably one of my favourite armoured forms in Sentai purely on an aesthetic level.
Next we have BunViolet; an overdue addition! With the ByunByun Mach Robo releasing a couple of months ago, it’s a poor show not having a Boon Violet to pair with him. Now we can!
The rest of this YUDO set will be another wave of core Boonboomger! Albeit, now in their recently revealed Champion jackets! It also looks as if this set will come with some unique hand gestures specific to certain Boonboomgers, beyond the usual ‘fist with peg hole’ and ‘open hand’.
A final look at everything to be included in this set! Plenty of bang for your buck if you like to regularly pose your YUDOs! They all seem to also be coming with their weapons again. A neat little bonus if you’re prone to losing your accessories.
That’s all regarding this set thus far. It was short and sweet but you only have a month until the set releases.

SODO GP Edition Kamen Rider Gotchard #3
SODO Kamen Rider Gotchard returns!!! In Gashapon form…
For those who missed out on Gotchard’s last two forms for their SODO collection, fear not as Gashapon’s got your back. The addition of Rainbow Gotchard here is a nice touch as he was only available via SODO Kamen Rider Gavv #1.
While likely to include less than their standard SODO variants, they come with the core SODO elements. Lets take a closer look…
As you can see, each figure comes with a ‘handful’ of alternative hand pieces. It looks to be that the closed fists lack the peg hole seeing as these variants don’t come with any weapons and/or accessories.
These released last week in Japanese shores. Enquire within The Toku Source to see if we can acquire these for you should you desire them!
Now, lets get a look at this months release…
SHODO-XX Kamen Rider #9
Time has flown and we’re finally here! SHODO-XX Kamen Rider #9 releases this coming week and with it brings a host of awesome additions to your small scale Kamen Rider figure collection!
Lets start with my favourite addition of this set…
It’s Kamen Rider V3!!! Having recently achieved both Kamen Rider Ichigo and Nigo through past SHODO-XX sets, the addition of V3 was obviously a no brainer. Regardless, he’s a great addition in any Rider fans collection!
Unite him with both aforementioned Riders for play or display!
Both Go-Gadol-Ba and Kuuga Amazing Mighty Form appear in this set, capping off Kuuga’s SHODO-XX run! If you missed on the news and are hoping for Kuuga Ultimate Form in a future SHODO set, the good news is… he’s coming! Bad news is it’s through Premium Bandai! Despite being a recolour, Kuuga’s Amazing Mighty form is still a stylish colour combo! Adding Go-Gadol-Ba as the villain for this set gives Kuuga fans one more monster to add to their collection while giving this sets Kuuga figure someone to face.
Another figure I’m really looking forward to is Kamen Rider Ohma Zi-O! The big bad future variant of Sougo with the combined power of all Kamen Riders!!!
His addition to the SHODO line not only adds another form for the previously released Kamen Rider Zi-O figure but also adds a villain for him to face off against. The figure itself disappointingly lacks a bit of colour details.
Nothing I can’t fix myself though…
Last, but certainly not least, is Kamen Rider Jin (Burning Falcon). Another awesome addition to the range of SHODO Zero One figures! Despite the form name, you’ll still need the optional accessory pack if you wish Jin to take flight!
