As September begins, we get closer and closer to finding out what the next Super Sentai series will be, with the trademark expected to drop later this month! Rumours for Sentai 2024 have surfaced on Rangerboard, which has intrigued fans all over!
Rumours surrounding the upcoming 49th Super Sentai have surfaced, shedding light on potential team colours and gimmicks for this next series. The fandom is eagerly waiting for more information to drop. Whilst images of the team are not expected until mid to late December, Rangerboard and other trusted sources has managed to reveal some information that may offer fans a glimpse into what the new team has in store.
Before I get into things I would like to make clear that these are rumours or, at the very least, notes from the pre production stage. From now up until the reveal information about this new team are subject to change. For instance TomboOhger was red during King-Ohger’s pre production stage, before his final colour was chosen ended up being blue.
Potential Theming and Colours
According to Rangerboard and several other trusted sources, the motif of Sentai 2024 will be an animal theme with the name “Zyuoh Sentai” going around as part of the team’s name. Just like with Boonboomger and vehicles, this team’s theme is familiar for Sentai but as is the current trend in the Rewia era, a twist is expected!
Based on the current rumours; the animal and colours on this team will be unique and will consist of the following:
- Red Wolf
- Blue Hawk
- Green T-Rex
- Pink Lion
- Black Unicon.
Based on these rumours, Green is returning to the main line up following its absence since Mashin Sentai Kiramager. Moreover, whilst the actual genders to each colour are unknown, the Black Unicorn hero is expected to be female, according to leakers. This would mark the first time in Sentai history where this colour was assigned to a female member excluding any Gokai Changes or one off transformations.
Another colour scheme which was mentioned by other reliable leakers have the following:
A trio consisting of:
- Red Wolf
- Blue Lion
- Yellow T Rex
A duo consisting of:
- Green Hawk
- Black Unicorn.
Henshin Device and Gimmick
The 2025 Super Sentai series is rumoured to feature rings, either serving as a collectable gimmick or the henshin device. It is unknown what the rings look like. Fans speculate that each ring could be linked to a different animal. Rings would bring a new flair to Sentai as this would be the first time we see this gimmick used for it. Rings have been used as the main gimmick in other tokusatsu series, with both Kamen Rider Wizard and Ultraman Taiga featuring ring like accessories.
It is said that the henshin device resembles the Ultraman Trigger Glitter Blade, pictured below.
Past Sentai Cameos
To coincide with the release of the DXROBO Universe (as well as anniversaries), representatives from Zyuranger, Magiranger, Shinkenger, Ninninger and Donbrothers are expected to appear in this Sentai at some point down the line.
With the trademark expected to drop later this month, we eagerly await confirmation of the ongoing rumours that have surfaced on Rangerboard. The introduction of rings as a henshin device or collectible gimmick has sparked excitement amongst the fandom. With unique animal motifs and the potential for new colour assignments, including the new addition of a female Black. Regardless of whether these rumours come to fruition or not, the upcoming series promises fresh surprises! Until the official reveal, keep your eyes open as we drop anything that we hear!
