Complete Details on the Figure-Rise Standard Kamen Rider Zero One

Re-enter the Reiwa age as Zero One joins the Figure-Rise line! Authorise the next rider in your kit collection as Bandai release their first Reiwa Rider!

Hello everyone! Scott here with the latest Figure-Rise reveal to get excited about. Here I was sitting around the house the other day, thinking to myself “Damn, it’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen a new Figure-Rise kit” as I wondered when we’ll next see one drop and more importantly, ‘who’ we’ll see drop.

None other than the first Reiwa Rider himself…

With the entire Heisei phase of Kamen Rider Figure-Rise kits completed, the question was “Where do the team go from here?” The Bandai Hobby team then promptly revealed the next kit to be Kamen Rider Kuuga Ultimate form, which was a hit or miss depending where you stand on alternative forms in the line.

They may have took some time for their next reveal but I think I speak for many when I say the wait was certainly worth it. Personally, I half expected secondary Riders or Showa Riders to get more love before they tackled Reiwa. A surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

Here we get a look at the articulation featured in the neck, shoulder and abdomen! The abdomen is going to be retractable which will improve the range for both forward and backward bending. The neck and head will be connected via a double ball joint. This will ensure a good bit of distance and range in the articulation.

The Bandai Hobby team will also aim to capture all the small fiber-like details in the bodysuit! Compound eyes will no doubt be well produced like all previous rider kits.

Zero One will come with his Attache Case and his Rising Hopper Progrise Key in both it’s Card Disk and Key modes! You can insert the Progrise Key into the Attache Case. Likewise, you can also put the Card Disk Progrise Key into the holder in the belt!

Through arranging some parts, you can form the Attache Case into the Attache Calibur! Like previous Figure-Rise kits, specific hand pieces will be included to hold the Attache Case and Calbur as well as the Progrise Key(s).

Here’s a final look at everything included in the kit (minus the main figure). What’s interesting to note is the new figure stand! The new figure stand included looks to be similar to a more traditional stand in the S.H. Figuarts line or similar collector grade figure lines. It’s not like previous kits, which had more of a hexagonal/octagonal base and a peg that inserts into the back of the figure. With Zero One, it looks like they’ve done away with the insertive back peg in favour of a more traditional approach.

On one hand, it’s good in that you can use the figure stand on other figures beyond Figure-Rise Standard if that interests you. On the other hand, it defeats consistency with previous Kamen Rider Figure-Rise kits; previously, all Rider Figure-Rise stands could interlock with each other which gave way to really awesome displays. This new stand defeats that unfortunately. If I was to wager a guess, I’d bet on factors like the decreasing value of the Japanese Yen and the increasing costs of materials being responsible as we’ve seen changes previously in other toylines (RIP Premium SODO).

This new inconsistency also has me wondering, will Zero One be compatible with the Decade belt piece?! Previously all Heisei kits allowed connection with the Kamen Rider Decade Decadriver piece natively or with an optionally included strap and/or lower abdominal piece. Nothing is stated as of yet, but I’m hopeful!

Anyhow, that’s gonna do it for now, folks! Currently, the Kamen Rider Zero One Figure-Rise Standard kit is shaping up to be a really exciting set and a great alternative for those that either missed out on the S.H. Figuarts version or want a Zero One figure more consistent in height to previous Figure-Rise kits.

Kamen Rider Zero One Figure-Rise Standard is due to release January 2025! Some time away but that’s no reason to delay. Email us at contact@thetokusource.com or reach out on social media to place your order today!
