Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger features a fantastic final gambit for Cannonborg, followed by a reintroduction with a massive cliffhanger. The 48th Super Sentai series marks the start and end of significant arcs as the 3rd lap begins with a huge teaser.
Bakuage Sentai Boomboomger featured Lap 2 as a way to introduce significant additions to the series. BunViolet and Byun D were the primary features of the series arc as Cannonborg takes the place of the previous general, Mad Rex. BunRed 119, robo debuts and brand new formations are featured throughout the latest instalment. However, Lap 3 has already teased new additions to the story as a poster reveals a new form, a huge Boonboom car and the next villain to encounter.
Lap 2 finally concludes as Cannonborg deals his last card in an effort to meet his Gyahsoline demands. The team act rapidly to stop his biggest threat and unleashed a high octane onslaught with BunViolet, followed by a new robo formation. The start of Lap 3 is marked by the latest episode which lightly reintroduces all characters. However, a massive reveal awaits fans when a teaser reveals the start of a new backstory to be explored for BunOrange.

Episodes 25 and 26 mark the line of a switch between arcs as Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger passes into Lap 3. This includes an exciting episode as Cannonborg unleashes his greatest threat to Earth, forcing a new Robo formation to be born. As the high action accelerates fans into a magnificent fight, the following episode instalments calm before a new storm. Episode 26 finally passes into a new chapter that teases important tells before a mouth widening connection is revealed for Genba.
Boonboomger #25 Brings Long Awaited Fight Between Hashiryan and Tyre People

Cannonborg’s arm is finally twisted as he uses his worst machine in an act of desperation. Episode 25 concludes Lap 2 by hosting the mod general’s last stand to produce results. Along with an all out assault from the team, fans get to see a final battle that features the greatest components of the story arc. This includes the latest members, new modes and even new robo formations to finish the run. Featuring rage and betrayal, the last effort from the general brings out Boonboom energy with a new all out combination to end it all.
Accelerating Into Last Fight

Cannonborg finally hits his limit as he calls out his worst invention to create Gyahsoline on Earth. His satellite draws out shock and haste from the heroes, with Sakito placing a heavy weight on the reveal. The amount of tension was the perfect way to force the story to a conclusion, which even left out a new Kurumajyu to bring an epic finale fight from the villain. The tension was switched as BunViolet stepped into the spotlight but the team featured in a brilliant montage.
The effect of Cannonborg’s machine led to an unexpected teaser as a mysterious tip reveals the general’s location. It was a curious twist that has gone unexplained for the episode, creating anticipation for the next instalments. BunViolet also features as the main opponent against Cannonborg, which was a nice fitting ending for the 2nd Lap headliners to bring the arc to its close. The fireworks for the summer also added a nice vibe to the story, allowing the team to feature a satisfying social event for the Lap’s conclusion.
Unbelievable Action Forces All Hands

The events that unfolded gave a great reason for Cannonborg to fight directly but the mod trickster also gave a surprising addition. This includes forcing the Sanseaters to fight against the squad, rather than staying on the sideline of conflict. This was a fantastic twist in the episode and even showed Itasha and Decotrade have enough of power to give the team a tough time. Cannonborg controlling them was also a nice layer of icing that set up a satisfying end to the foe.
Sakito was a fantastic piece to the board as the speedster was perfectly used as Cannonborg’s counter. BunRed 119 did add to the action but the spotlight stayed with the most significant addition to the 2nd Lap. As the new cast member, it was great to see all members pass the baton, and their key weapons, to BunViolet to chase after Cannonborg. The amazing final fight between the villain and the additional hero was mesmerising and truly captured the cemented relationships and the mounted power of the team.
Diving into Cannonborg’s Relations

The episode also graced viewers with a decent insight into Cannonborg’s history with known characters. This includes his irritation with Mad Rex’s view, which brought out his self centred traits caused by arrogance and pride. It was interesting to see his outlook on his intelligence and the resulting superiority complex featured with it. This mental clash with the past general was a great way to see the foe lash out in response to his shortcomings.
Seeing his treatment of the Sanseaters also granted a magnificent twist to the episode. Seeing him use the trio as pawns to aid his escape highlighted his view of the underlings as tools. Forcing them to fight also provided a magnificent stand from Yeiyei as he intended to make Itasha and Decotrade go giant. The push of luck finally broke as Yeiyei turned on Cannonborg, finally adding a sweet ditch from their bosses’ treatment.
Robo Finale for 2nd Lap

Cannonborg’s final fight featured key abilities that were fitting for the general, including a forcefield that added a decent struggle. It was perfect to see the Monster formation and Byunbyun Mach Robo start off the last mecha battle for the arc. Seeing these two additions for the last episode of the arc was brilliant since they both debut in the segment of episodes. This was followed by Boonboomger Robo 119 but the massive combination that involved all Boonboom cars felt like a necessary conclusion.
The Boonboom Full Throttle Edition was a great cannon formation to end Cannonborg. Although the formation itself wasn’t pretty, the final attack effects gave the epic blast that suited the need. The configuration also matched the expectation from the toy line as it highlighted a need to collect every Boonboom car for fans to recreate. Overall, the configuration allowed for a great finale to the arc, with a firework celebration to conclude the Summer-themed episodes.
Boonboomger #26 Reintroduces Characters Before Slamming Fans Into Suspense

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger entered Lap 3 with a light outline of characters while delivering teasers. This includes the occupations and the general stance of the team as it leads up to a massive cliffhanger to kick of the new arc. The peace is also outlined in the episode before setting up a disturbance, including the Sanseaters recreating the Toilet Grumer. Massive details start the first page as a variety of plot holes open up routes for a fantastic journey ahead.
Outline Of Characters Awakens Forgotten Questions

The episode has a light establishment for characters from Saiba, but the most important puzzle from the Lap 2 finale takes place. This includes the unexplained tip that allowed the team to find Cannonborg, which was revealed by Saiba’s boss. This is not the only feature that adds anxiety for trouble as Genba still remains to be a complete mystery. This is finally addressed in the episode since the acquisition expert even flags it as a concern from the ISA.
It was curious to discover that there is no information about Genba Bureki, despite his assistance as an acquisition expert and as BunOrange. There is a lot of excitement caused by these timed highlights, forcing fans to desire any answer in upcoming instalments. The entire episode acts like a detailed reflection that helps establish significant reveals. This was also seen by introducing the Division Director and hosting eye opening surprises to dive into.
Welcoming Flashback as Sanseaster Commemorate Mad Rex

The Sanseaters are dropped into despair due to the mounting defeats across multiple episodes. The nightmare involving their destruction at the hands of the Boonboomger produces a great empathy from the viewer. However, it was great to see the series finally debut a deeper connection between the trio and Mad Rex in a newly revealed backstory scene. Although villains, the story allows fans to see a good spark of humanity from the outcast monsters, while still adding amusing instances like copying their old boss’ dog sound and bringing back the first Kurumajyu he created.
Humourous Fight Leads into Latest Robo Features

The Toilet Grumer was used as a great way to add nostalgia to create laughs from the audience. This includes Ishiro’s response to see the past Kurumajyu return as his previous experience still gives him embarrassment. It was a laugh to see the amount of panic, which overshadowed the new monster’s effect to be completely unnecessary. Sakito’s reaction to the original truth ability also reminded viewers of the craziness of the character, but the reveal of the water lacking the same properties led to an amusing instance that will remain iconic for the character.
The water feature of the Kurumajyu also played into the 119 mode arsenal, since the Red hero’s mode was highlighted to be resistant. The robo battle also continued to show the team’s current strength. This includes Boonboomger Robo 119’s ability to counter the tsunami attack from the toilet monster’s attack. The Boonboom Full Throttle Edition combination makes its return as the conclusion to the battle, allowing for a concrete resolution before dishing out the biggest cliffhanger.
Powerful Cliffhanger Causes Frustrating Anticipation

The two most significant features of the episode involve Saiba walking past Taiga’s mentor at the ISA and the newly revealed general. This was a ‘gasp’ moment as it teased a surprising, and possible, connection between the director, Eiichiro Tokoyari, and Raita Naito. Although a slight appearance, it creates tension for the viewer as they await to discover whether this could be a perk or problem in the future. The delivery of new tech was outlined in the episode but it added heat to the ending of the episode.
This includes the debut of a new general, yet to be introduced to the viewers. His appearance may have been included in the end but he instantly grabbed the attention of the audience. Genba was the member most affected in the episode as Satoru Soma breaks his cool steak, unleashing primal rage. It was incredible to see this switch as it perfectly teased a long awaited backstory that can only be uncovered in the next episode.

For a satisfying conclusion of the 2nd Lap, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger episode 25 a total score of 9 out 10. As a reintroduction that frames many details as teasers, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger episode 26 a total score of 7 out of 10.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will feature episode 27 on September 1st, 2024, which exclusively airs in Japan. The 48th Sentai series will focus on the new villain and Genba in the upcoming instalment.
