BOOM! Studios reveals Power Rangers Prime as the upcoming comic series starting this Autumn. The new series features a preview of new Rangers, new villains and a new story, with the return of writer, Melissa Flores.
A new era of Power Rangers begins as the comics feature a completely new story that features familiar characters in an all new adventure. Power Rangers Prime will feature a fantastic new story that teases the inclusion of a new Mighty Morphin Red Ranger and will also feature a Red Samurai Ranger. With Darkest Hour concluding, a new comic series will now take up the mantle by taking fans into a new Morphinominal world.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic series first debuted in 2016, providing a plot filling take on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team. The eight year long series from BOOM! Studios featured a range of iconic characters across time and space thanks to anniversary events that forced generations to face the same threat. Darkest Hour featured as the 30th anniversary event that saw the Rangers face against another timeline breaking foe, which was written by Melissa Flores as the last entry to conclude the story.

What did I do to deserve drawing a Power Rangers book? Seriously! Back in the 90s, kids of my age in China got only a handful of American shows and cartoons and they were simply priceless! We’d rush back home from school to catch them regardless how pissed our parents were for not spending the time studying. But I had no regrets, because Power Rangers was one of the best.

Now, not only am I drawing it, but the book is also written by the unbelievably talented Melissa Flores, and designed by Dan Mora, one of my favourite artists out there these days that I look up to. So it is for the team, for my younger self, and most importantly for you, that I’m putting my absolute heart and soul into this book! I can’t wait for you to read it.
Power Rangers is an integral part of BOOM! Studios’ DNA, and in the wake of the finale of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, we were never going to stop telling new and exciting ongoing stories. Fans were expecting a new series or reboot news but never both merged together in the form of a comic series from BOOM! Studios. Melissa Flores has blasted fans away with her Darkest Hour finale and just when you thought it was over, this amazing writer brings forth a fantastic new original story. The comics brought a lot of originals to the series but there was so much more potential that is finally being tapped into.
Its amazing to see that Lauren Shiba may feature in this incredible story. The female Red Ranger from Power Rangers Samurai is truly captivating in these previews. It’s insane to see her in action as she fights against Eltarians, with such stunning visuals already in the first five pages. It will be amazing to see what surprises are in store as a whole new Morphin Grid is unleashed this November.
