The Bandai Rider toy site has been updated with a tonne of Kamen Rider Gavv items, including weapons, figures and, show signature, Gochizo! Let’s take a look.
The months leading to a new Kamen Rider series are among the most exciting on the tokusatsu calendar, with fans clamouring to see the items, gimmicks and forms that will make up the bulk of the series to come. As part of this build, Bandai have revealed official images for some of the toys that will be released for the start of the first quarter of Kamen Rider Gavv. Spoiler alert: Many of the Gochizo are super cute!

Blind Box Gochizo
An additional note about Gochizo. You’re smart, I’m sure you’ve already realised there are multiple expressions of the Gochizo, right? That’s because they are doing blind boxes, with different expressions available to be pulled! The Gotchard card packs have clearly sold well enough that Gotcha Game blind draw lightning needs to be recaptured!
My Thoughts
Despite being blindsided by the blind boxes, I can safely say we were all expecting pretty much this, right? A couple of swords, a type of gun, a unique thing to hold this years collectable gimmick item, new soft vinyl figures of our new hero and his Q1 batch of forms, a gimmick holder attachment for the belt that will also be sold in an extra bundle with the belt. This is all fairly standard fare for a debuting Rider series.
The thing I would like to draw attention to, and that caught me by surprise, is the retail price of these; they seem to be on the cheaper end, pricewise. This is likely due to them being easier for Bandai to produce, harkening back to the days of cheaper, less intricate Rider gimmicks. We will see a lot of these cute little guys and a lot of alternative versions of them, too! It also means it’s unlikely these cute little critters make any sounds on their own and, of course, the SG (Candy Toy) versions will probably not have much difference between them and the DX versions, which is another throwback. It’s likely the DX will have things like transparent plastic arms on popping gummy while the SG will have regular non seethrough plastic, which I have mixed opinions on. On one hand, cheaper Rider gimmick toys means more people can afford them. On the other hand, I’m not sure where I’m going to put all of these cute little sweet snacky scrimblos…
Do any of these catch your eye? Which are you going to preorder? Keep your eyes peeled on The Toku Source to know when preorders are available! As always, I’ve been Ethan: Writer, reviewer and person rearranging their room to make space for sweet, snacky scrimblos! I’ll see you next time!
