The S.H. Figuarts line is keeping up the pace with its slew of Kamen Rider figure releases, the latest addition to its lineup being Kamen Rider Dread Type Zero.
Hailing from Kamen Rider Gotchard, Dread is the next modern Rider to be revealed by S.H. Figuarts, following the June announcements of Kamen Rider Tycoon Bujin, Kamen Rider Sabre Brave Dragon, and Kuuga Amazing Mighty figures.
Vital Statistics
Coming in at approximately 15cm (150mm), the Dread figure is packed with intricate decals and moulds faithful to the intimidating appearance of the character. Materials used are ABS plastics and poly vinyl chlorides; the scarf is stated to be made of a “soft material”, presumably PVC, also.
Accessories include Dread’s two main weapons: a katana and two pistols, the Bloody AB and Bloody BB, respectively. A miniature version of the Dreadriver belt comes equipped at the waist.
Interchangeable hands come with the figure, four types for each the left and right hand; a hand in a neutral position, a clenched fist, and two variations for when Dread is wielding either the Bloody AB or Bloody BB (or both, if you’d like to go overkill).
S.H. Figuarts also posed the Dread Type Zero figure with their Kamen Rider Gotchard Steamhopper figurine (released in February earlier this year) and the two look glorious together.

The official promo images produced by S.H. Figuarts showcase the Dread figure in a wide range of dynamic and robust action poses, guaranteeing some excellent articulation for fans to experiment with upon release.
No sign of Dread’s other forms seen in Kamen Rider Gotchard (Type One, Type Two, etc) yet unfortunately!
Fuel to the Fire
Even though it’s an exciting reveal, Dread isn’t the only S.H. Gotchard figurine to seemingly be releasing this year, with the Tamashii Nations social media account posting a teaser image of their next release.
That’s right, Kamen Rider Fire Gotchard is going to be joining Dread Type Zero in the S.H. Figuarts lineup this year!
No specific details or images are available of the figure yet, only the silhouette image for now. But, judging from the high quality production of the Dread Figuarts, it won’t be hard to imagine how expertly crafted and faithful to the show Fire Gotchard will turn out to be.
Dreading the Wait
As with most of the recent Kamen Rider releases teased by S.H. Figuarts, the Kamen Rider Dread Type Zero figure is expected to be available December 2024. Even less concrete is the release window for the Fire Gotchard figure, with no teasers for when this addition will be coming out.
It’ll be another five months before Dread becomes available, but with how superb he looks in all of his promo images, it’ll be a release certainly worth the wait.
