Bakuage Sentai Boonboonger has revealed its additional hero, BunViolet, along with his partner, BunDiesel. The upcoming addition to the 48th Sentai series will be the sixth member of the team, with his own style to fit with his high octane vehicle theme.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger currently features five heroes, with support from Shirabe Saibu. The series also featured Bundorio Bunderas, who can grow and change to become Boonboom Trailer, then switch to Boonboomger Robo. The latest reveals have shown Boonboom Safari and Boonboom Marine will join the lineup, allowing the debut of Boonboomger Robo Monster. There are still three sets to follow for the Boomboom Car series but teasers have been revealed for the sixth member of the team.
Along with the official reveal of BunViolet, fans were also informed of other upcoming cast members. This includes the new character that will transform into BunViolet and the voice actor that will feature as the purple Robo counterpart to Bundorio. Here is everything we know about the upcoming additions, with a correlation against previous leaks and rumours.
Boonboomger Reveals BunViolet, BunDiesel, and Episode Debut
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will feature BunViolet and BunDiesel as the latest additions to the 48th Sentai series. The cast announcement has revealed that Yu Miyazawa will portray Homura Sento, who will transform into BunViolet this June. This finally confirms that BunViolet is themed on Formula 1, with details similar to an F1 Driver’s suit. The suit is complete with his own unique tyre design, ‘Boon Boom’ and ‘Boonboomger’ wording, along with yellow accents used for details on the purple hero’s form.
Yu Miyazawa has also previously appeared in other tokusatsu releases. This includes portraying a villain, Alpha, in Kamen Rider Gotchard and Kiyotaka Tsuji in Kamen Rider Revice. In addition to this reveal, fans were also treated to a tease of how the new hero will enter the scene. This includes that Homura will come from space, which is similar to the origins of Bundorio. A vinyl figure has also been revealed for the upcoming addition to the team. However, the figure has fewer details and paint compared to the actual suit featured.
Fans were also introduced to BunDiesel, who will be the robo partner to the new hero and voice by Natsuki Hanae. There seems to be great puns matching to actors continuing, with Bundorio matching Antonio Banderas and now a match to Vin Diesel. BunDiesel has yet to be revealed as the robo, transforming similarly to Bundorio, but his design has already teased this to be the case. Many design features suggest his form will be an Formula 1 car, with similar details to Bundorio. Unlike Bundorio, the new partner has a white helmet, which may be a non-robo feature like Bundorio’s face.
Top Gear Analysis for the New Additions
There is so much to dive into with this newly revealed hero for Boonboomger, who has an episode debut number similar to many past sixth heroes. It’s fantastic to see how well an Formula 1 racer suit looks as a Sentai hero, plus it’s brilliant how the ‘Boonboom’ text is used in the place of advertising markings. The yellow also works strikingly well to bring out the details, with a brilliant alternative tyre design for the helmet to match the theme more. However, these images have yet to give fans a great look at the upcoming changer, which is rumoured to mix a gaming controller with a driver’s wheel.
BunDiesel was a great surprise as it’s amazing that fans will get another character like Bundorio, especially after the debut of Boonboom Killer Robo. His body also has lots of tells that it changes differently compared to the main robo, but it’s hard to say if the helmet is the Robo form’s head. Hopefully, we will also get a nice quirk from BunDiesel like Bundorio and his curry hype. It will also be interesting if both robos can combine as rumoured, but it seems that every Boonboom car combination works with the latest addition.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will debut BunViolet in Episode 16, airing on Sunday June 16th. The new hero will be joined by BunDiesel, with more features and related toys to be revealed soon.
