Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger featured a tense instalment as Episode 8 featured a divide among the team. This includes the discovery of Taiga creating Boonboomger for his dream, rather than defending the planet. The story has provided a fantastic dramatic cliffhanger as a potent defeat leaves the team hanging at a balance. The main cast has now been set as every debut among the core members has been made, with Satoru Soma completing the team as BunOrange.
Big Conclusion from Lap 1 to Bonding Start to Lap 2

Boonboomger Episode 9 is a complete bundle of drama and debuts, as the team discovers meaning the behind the Taiga and Bundorio team. The episode also features an epic fight against Mad Rex and the debut of Boonboom Racing with the Boonboomger Robo Knight. After marking the end of Lap 1, Episode 10 continues the story with bonding between Mira and Genba in their own hectic delivery mission. Providing a fantastic start to Lap 2 that could begin a fantastic new arc that adds even more connections.
Boonboomger Episode 9 Stars Satisfying Resolution to Drama

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger episode 9 features a hard hitting turn as the team deals with Taiga’s reasoning. However, the episode becomes a huge resolution that meshes the team together while also bringing in a new formation. The story also allows for Saiba to be given heart as the ice breaker fans have been awaiting. With Mad Rex raging, an exciting fight brings the drivers together and delivers a brilliant conclusion to the first lap. All cast members have been able to produce a great mix of drama, action, and joy in just one episode.
Switching Tension to Drama

Bundorio takes a great spotlight in the episode as he reveals his first encounter with Taiga. This flashback reveal was perfectly timed to deliver a brilliant counter to the previous events. This is further enhanced by Saiba calling for Boonboomger to be disbanded after learning the truth about Taiga’s dream. The emotions flow fast out of all characters as they feel despair for having to give up their powers. However, this switches to intense drive as Bundorio reveals that Taiga’s dream was actually his own.
The concept of Taiga as a delivery man was always a feature but, finally, the episode delivered a perfect moment for the story. This is due to Bundorio revealing Taiga wants to deliver his dream by creating Boonboomger for the race he was disqualified from. This cluster of information was revealed at heightened moment and even made sense for a sudden cemented allegiance. The overall steps in the story led to a fantastic ‘henshin’ for all five heroes to kick into high gear.
Intense Sentai Hitting Power

The quadruple fight between the four Boonboomgers and Mad Rex was a great engaging scene for fans to enjoy. The fight may not have been in their favour, but it was designed to add fantastic tension for the team reuniting. This includes a multi light attack that showed how in sync the team were, supporting Taiga while he wasn’t there. This also provided a great correspondence between the members as they united to fight their foe with every they had. The damage received also put them on equal footing with Taiga’s injuries, which generated a brilliant balance.
Fiery Knight Debut With Heated Gang

The final episode of the first lap finally featured Boonboomger Robo Knight, as Boonboom Racing finally joined for the formation. Mad Rex had great power, but the overall fight was used to demonstrate the team’s new strength from synchronisation. It was a great scene seeing the mecha ride together in this particular episode and to see there was a difficulty trying to use the Knight formation. Their newfound unity made the debut of the new formation even more special, along with the great ability and aesthetic it possesses. One nice little addition was seeing the various Boonboom vehicles helping as part of the team, suggesting they are semiautonomous.
Concluding a Serious Bad

Mad Rex has made a great impression during his short duration of the series, including providing fear to the evil side. The trio are currently more comedic in nature which resonates with their position. However, Mad Rex has provided a great resistance to the team’s power and made their grow in strength noticeable. It was also teased that a bigger foe will be coming when the general was defeated, keeping anticipation for next big antagonist after such a brilliant mini villain arc.
Episode 10 Brings a Smoother Sentai Episode with Added Bonding

Fans finally got the joy of a Genba episode as Satoru Soma led the drive for a new delivery. The first episode of the new lap also adds synergy between BunOrange and BunPink. As three members are away, Genba is tasked by Saibu to deliver a high risk package to the ISA. The episode also features Children’s Day as part of the story, some great new combinations and even a Koinobori Grumer.
Bring Back Some Humour to the Ride

The episode is a lot lighter than the previous instalment but offers some tense moments as Genba works with a risky delivery. Mira discovers that Genba must deliver a prototype, high output energy source that is dangerous to mess with. Dekotorade, Ittasha, and Yeiyei Yaruka continue the trend of an antagonistic comical trio as they seek to obtain it, but their actions incorporate light humour. This includes their newly created Kurumajyu and even calling for a timeout to explain why hitting the case is a bad idea, mid fight.
Seeing Mira trying to keep the case safe with a casually emotive Genba added some brilliant amusement to the episode. The ability used by the Koinobori Grumer created some dynamic moments throughout the episode, including Mira’s Changer flying off. The overall episode kept delivering more and more memorable scenes, making the story seem more feature filled compared to most filler episodes. Jou’s effort hype to help clean up for Children’s Day was also used as a gag, as his momentum is quickly switched back to Mira and Genba.
Bonding Moment With Pink & Orange

The characters of Soma and Miu Suzuki speak volumes in this certain episode as they display more of their characteristics. This includes Mira’s gullibility that is highlighted as a decoy method, along with Genba’s visually cool environmental adaptability. However, the episode heavily plays on heartfelt bonding as Mira and Genba interact more. This includes Genba learning why everyone is so serious and driven about a delivery, leading to him experiencing it to get to know the others better.
This moment was a great way to establish development links between two members. Genba has also been able to have much more direct correspondence with characters, without losing the charm he began with. He has an amazing soft tone compared to the other members of the team, which blends in with the mix of hot headed characters like Mira and Jou. It was a nice addition to having an emotional link between two characters that have different natures.
Villainous Shenanigans & Striking Moves

The episode started with some great over elaboration for the Sanseaters, which is elevated further by Koinobori Grumer. This consisted of jumping Ittasha to floating Nejiretta caused by the accidental hit by the Kurumajyu’s ability. Genba’s fight scene also played well into these altercations and added some great choreographic moments for the Sentai. Yeiyei showed herself to be the most levelheaded as she redirected the actions of their associates. This was a great way of keeping a flow going, without taking away the chance for comical expression.
Boonboom Driving and Custom Robo Formations

Yeiyei’s run in the Highway Space may have been shortlived, but it was a great return of the use. It was a shame that the use is becoming shorter, and the Koinobori formation seemed rather odd but was at least a fun little feature. The episode also added some superb effects from the Highway Space to the Robo fight. Fans were also able to see some different formations as Boonboon Patrol Car 1 and Boonboom Racing are attached to the arms as weapons. It was great to see different moves and abilities like the toy combinations, including Robo Builder including Boonboom Wagon to sync with the new connection between Mira and Genba.
For a spectacular conclusion of the first lap, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonbomger Episode 9 a total of 9 out of 10. For a joyful build between Mira and Genba with some light humour, we give Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger Episode 10 a total of 8 out of 10.
