How’s it going toku fans? Scott here once more to deliver some Minipla goodness to your screens. It certainly seems like there’s been a lot of Minipla news lately and it gets better! We have our first Boonboomger Minipla finally releasing; rather it has released in Japanese shores, last week there. If you’ve put in your orders here at The Toku Source, it’s only a matter of time ’til you have yours, but until then, lets take a more detailed dive at what each box contains and get excited for the first stellar release in the Boonboomger Minipla line.

RELATED: Boonboomger Minipla Bakuage Gattai Series 2 Revealed

Like any initial Sentai Minipla kit, it will come with a series of boxes. In this case, the Boonboomger Minipla set will encase six boxes to form all the necessary pieces to combine into the initial base form mecha.

Here’s a brief look at what each box is set to contain, giving us a three vehicles to start off with. Hit the link further up to get a look at the Boonboomger Bakuage Gattai Series 2 set and see the plethora of vehicles coming soon!

Let’s also not forget that the first Bakuage Gattai Series set comes with plastic standee variants of the Boonboomger team, so we get a nice set of 2D figures to display along with our new mecha. Especially ideal for those not interested in the YU-DO figures (which is a shame because it’s a seriously awesome line). It also probably goes without saying, but the Minipla vehicles aren’t compatible with any of the DX accessories (changer, weapons, etc.).

Anyhow, lets not waste anymore time and jump into the details…

Boonboom Trailer

The first four boxes of this set alone will allow you to form the Boonboom Trailer: the main vehicle and main component of the Boonboomger Robo.

The finished vehicle itself looks amazing and really detailed for its scale. Should you leave your Minipla sets in their ‘vehicle mode’ this will certainly be the attention grabber of your display.

Like its DX counterpart, the Minipla Boonboomger Trailer can open up and transform into its ‘Gate Mode’. The other two Boonboomger vehicles included in the set (and the later vehicles of Set 2) can all pass through the gate with ease. Again, unlike their DX counterparts, there is no ‘instant’ transform gimmick in the vehicles.

The Boonboom Trailer also has another function of play or display…

Bundorio Bunderas (Bun Bun) at your service! The faithful companion of the Boonboomgers arrives in articulated figure form and makes for a nice companion to the upcoming S.H.Figuarts BunRed!

So much on offer with the first four boxes! Now for the remaining two…

Boonboom Offroad

Some painted details have been reproduced inside. It leaves some room for improvement or DIY at your own discretion…

And lastly, a look at Offroad passing through the gate! I’m gonna have to keep reiterating, in case someone misses it, there is no instant transform gimmick involved with Minipla!

Boonboom Wagon

Moving on to Box 6, which is fully dedicated to giving us BunPink’s vehicle: the Boonboom Wagon! Like Boonboom Offroad, Wagon also has an ‘attack’ mode…

Of course, this can also be done manually or recreated with Boonboom Trailer’s gate mode…

After all is said and done, you’re now ready to recreate the transformation sequence to Boonboomger Robo!

Boonboomger Robo

There he stands in all of his Minipla glory! Another fine addition to the collection!

A staple of all Minipla mecha is the ability to come with an expressive range of articulation. While the DX Boonboomger Robo lacks this, Minipla continues to deliver…

You can see through these images the various joints and connection points that allow a large range of movement and articulation for play, display or any photos you wish to take!

As you can see, there should be no doubts in the range of motion available in this set. Those familiar with minipla will have come to expect this by now.

Lets also not forget about Boonboomger themselves…

As you can see, they look fantastic on their own or displayed with the Boonboomger Robo. I personally hope this remains a trend going forward. Perhaps even in subsequent rereleases of older Minipla.

Anyhow, that’s all we have now! Or is it…?

Boonboomger BONUS

Inside your complete Boonboomger Box Set will come a bonus set of stickers!

This sheet is simply an ‘optional’ extra. The fact of the matter is the sheet replicates some of the initial stickers included in the set, albeit with an extra shine! Use them at your own discretion to give your Boonboomger set an extra bit of sparkle during the daylight hours!

It’s a nice little extra to jazz up the initial kit and ceremoniously celebrate the first Boonboomger Minipla in style!

But now, that is gonna do it for real! As I mentioned at the top, this released earlier this week in Japan. Fear not, as you have not missed your chance to obtain this wonderful kit. Should you want to add this to your Boonboomger or Minipla collection, you can secure this item via special order!
