Call on dinosaur power to form the newest edition of Daizyuzin! It’s ‘clear’ as day that you need this for your collection!
Hello again toku fans, Scott here again! I know; so soon, but we have another minipla on the horizon. One that’s sure to please Sentai and Power Rangers fans: Shinka Gattai Daizyuzin from Zyuranger. Also known locally as the Dino Megazord from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers; now in a transparent clear colour variant inspired by the dino crystals featured within the show.
Here’s a quick comparison with the original (left) and the new clear variant (right)…
Pretty cool, right? This was recently revealed as part of the “SMP Union” event held at the 2024 Wonder Festival. SMP Union is a Shokugan Modelling Project centric event, uniting all of Bandai’s SMP franchises under one event to appease minipla fans of all types. Think something like Tamashii Nations events for the candy toy Minipla community!
As you can see in the comparison above, there’s absolutely no difference between the sets beyond the clear coloured plastic. It gives those who missed out on the original another chance to obtain it for their collection; albeit a snazzy transparent one. It will be the first instalment of the “Super Mini Plastic Sentai Series” which obviously implies more Sentai mecha released, likely in a similar clear coloured format. Personally I missed out on GokaiOh, so I’d love that for my own collection.
Anyway, lets dive on in with a look at this one…
Guardian Beast Tyrannosaurus
The king of dinosaurs in all of his glory! Hard not to imagine that you’ll have a ‘roaring’ good time putting this together!
Guardian Beast ZyuMammoth
Seems it’s not 100% clear colouring as ZyuMammoth is looking about 50% hard plastic and 50% clear plastic. This may please or disappoint some fans. One thing is clear though; he wont be a ‘mammoth’ task to put together.

Guardian Beast SaberTiger
With another leg of support, Daizyuzin will be able to ‘stand’ against it’s foes! (I’m so sorry but also not sorry for all of these puns)
Guardian Beast Pteranodon
I need to get this off my ‘chest’, but Pteranodon is absolutely needed to complete your Daizyuzen mecha!
As this clear colour variant is just that: a variant, it has the exact same range or articulation as the original. It can also replicate all the transformation states as you can see in the gallery above. It will also be able to combine with the original Minipla variants of Guardian Beast Dragon Caesar/Dragonzord and Beast Knight God King Brachion/Titanus.
Again, I can’t keep to myself how cool this is! An opportunity for those to obtain him again, but perhaps those who own the original will want this also? Owning both would allow a cool mix of solid and transparent pieces to really make a mecha that stands out above the rest!
That’s gonna do it for now though folks! SMP Evolution Combination Daizyuzin (Clear Colour Version) is due to release August 2024. Don’t delay in getting your orders in! He’s been a big seller in the past; I imagine this won’t be any different.
