The Sentai Summary: Boonboomger #3 Brings Shenanigans and an Alternate Delivery Method

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger focuses on the comical asynchronous teamwork on the team in episode three. This recent offering features BunPink as she takes on her own delivery, which she must complete solo.

The latest episode of 48th Sentai Series, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger, features Mira as she is encouraged to deliver a boy’s crafted mirror for his grandmother. The episode also fuses in other characters that either assist or are forced to face a new foe. This fairly small challenge is magnified when a new Kumaju is created from an old clock to make more Gyahsolin. More shenanigans are encountered as the team travels their own lanes down the highway to win the day.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger has introduced the main trio for the series but has teased the additional characters with their presence. Their arsenal of car series vehicles are also present as the whole fleet is seen driving with Boon Trailer, Boon Offroad, and Boon Wagon. The villains of the series have also teased a great debut coming soon as the trio of generals for the Hashiryan have been seen answering to a boss hidden by a screen. Episode two focused on the new dynamic between their new member, BunPink, but more is expected to debut as each episode airs.

Episode 3 Puts Humour in the Driver’s Seat

The latest episode of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger involves Mira taking her own delivery after hearing the story of a young boy. The series also features the first debut of a new Boonboom vehicle as Boonboom Classic makes its official appearance for a new Robo gattai event. The episode also develops the relationship between Mira and her team members, along with intersecting interactions with Jou and Genba. The episode features Kumaju of the week, Tokei Grumer, with a teased character for the next instalment.

Exciting Twist as Humour Drives the Event

Mira’s antics as she takes on her own delivery mission are the highlight of the episode, as Taiya makes her carry out the task herself. This includes the twist of a bicycle to be used instead of a motor based mode of transport. The humour also features Tokei Grumer as the transformed old clock has an issue with any moving object out of jealousy. The best moment featured in the episode is actually a form of asynchrony as Taiga assumes Mira is causing a distraction, but Suzuki Miu provided an unambiguous performance of how much Mira mistook Taiga’s implication.

These little twists and turns in the episode added a great line up of delightful moments for the characters in the episode. It was also great to see Genba partake in the episode for the acquisition of the bike used. We also get a great interference from Jou, as the cop attempts to take control of the situation but ends up losing a bike and his firearm during comedic instances. The instance of the Kamaju disciplining the generals also added further amusement to the episode. There is so many little build ups that made the episode seem filling, despite the release only being the third instalment.

Action Dividing Laughter

The asynchronous pattern was brilliantly altered by Haruhi’s joyful surprise at Mira’s interoperation of priority. There was also tension as the Kamaju almost targeted an aeroplane, due to his grudge against formerly being a broken clock. The event led to a dynamic fight scene between the trio and the Kamaju, including a teamwork based timing of hits. The combat was also satisfying when it included BunBlue’s shots that followed each slash from the other members. It was great to see how much BunRed and BunBlue have synchronised but Taiya physically directing Mira also kept that newbie status during the perfect combat performance.

New Debuts and Finisher

The first auxiliary mecha finally made its debut as Boonboom Classic featured in the beginning and made its gattai premiere for the series. It was fantastic to see how the auxiliary mecha would appear for the Robo since it changes back into gate mode to bring another vehicle to the battlefield. The need for the Sword mode was also magnified by the old screws that demanded a different tactic, while also matching the foe’s dual wield armament.

We also got to see a new finisher featuring the Boonboom Handle in rod mode, which keeps the same essence as the Timeranger inspired finisher. The finisher for the Robo as Boonboomger Robo Nitoryuu, which featured the Boonboom Classic, also kept a similarly inspired finisher. It was also interesting that the new formation still kept BoonBoom Wagon along with Boonboom Offroad.

Great Teaser For Follow Up

The negative overview of Jou returning from another bad day allowed for a much more dramatic appearance of Saibu. Atsuko Hashiyasume was able to make a great debut and a perfect teaser for the next episode. Instantly, Saibu took control of both Jou and the room, leading to a great cliffhanger for the following release.

It was also interesting that the Nejiretta didn’t make an appearance in this episode, adding the potential for their use in the next encounter. This has been a very well thought out episode that elegantly mixes the story with systematic debuts. There is also the presence of a great new JAF segment to highlight safety on the roads of Japan, which is a fantastic way to inform and caution the target audience.

For providing an entertaining assortment of humour and debuts, we give episode three of Bakuage Sentai Boonbomger a total score of 9 out of 10.
