S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Rising Ultraman and Emi and Ultraman Rising Sofubi Series Revealed

Some of the first toy releases for Netflix’s upcoming Ultraman series, Ultraman Rising, have been revealed, including figures in both vinyl and S.H. Figuarts form!

Hey all, Sean here again, I know it’s been a while since I wrote something solo, but I’m back with my first post-Blazar article! We have quite the interesting one today.

In case you don’t know, Netflix, Industrial Light and Magic and Tsuburaya Productions have been working on a collaborative project, and animated film “ULTRAMAN: RISING”, which will see the egotistical baseball player Ken Sato (who is secretly Ultraman) take on his greatest challenge yet, not fighting a Kaiju, but raising one!

The film was announced in 2021, and we received our first trailer in 2023, alongside our first look at the S.H. Figuarts Ultraman from the film, of which has received some newer product images, showcased below.

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Rising will come with the following accessories:

  • Emi
  • Four pairs of interchangeable hands
  • Replacement colour timer (red)

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Rising Ultraman and Emi is set to retail for ¥7000 and will release July 2024.

Personally, I love the way Ultraman looks here, the proportions remind me a lot of Sony’s “Spider-Verse” films. The eyes being blue really work here and the inclusion of a smaller figure of the baby Kaiju, Emi, is a nice touch.

However, these aren’t the only pieces of merchandise revealed for the movie, which brings me swiftly to Sofubi.

Ultraman Rising Series Sofubi vinyl figures have also been revealed. Like most Ultraman productions, there will be a line of soft vinyl figures, and the lineup we have in the image is as follows:

  • Ultraman (ULTRAMAN: RISING)
  • Emi
  • Gigantron

Now, as a Sofubi collector, I will definitely be picking these up when they release, because I love the aesthetic this movie is going for.

“ULTRAMAN: RISING” releases on Netflix on June 14th, 2024, you can check out the trailer below.

This has been Sean, and I will see you in my next article, which will be my second S.H. Figuarts showcase.
