The Sentai Summary: Boonboomger Episode 2 Ignites Tension Between Members

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger presses drama between Bun Blue and Bun Pink in episode 2, creating a path to teamwork. The latest episode of the 48th Sentai series places a spotlight on the relationship between existing members, as Mira learns about the team.

Fans are driven into the drama as Ishirou proclaims a lack of recognition towards their new member, leading to a misunderstanding during combat. With the main trio and the main Robo already introduced, the latest episode focuses on the characters and their positions in the team. The new release also teases the origins, job, and even the role of another soon to be member of the team.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger is in top gear as it drives through 2024 as the 48th Super Sentai series. The premiere aired last week as the car themed heroes return a similar formula seen for past debut structures for iconic Sentai teams. The series will feature five members for the series but only the core three have debuted so far, with the new two outstanding members teased in the first episode. The series also brings back the iconic car themed fast speed, featured in Sentai like Carranger and GoOnger, but brings in new unique abilities and weapons.

Boonboomger Tense Turn as Friction Mounted Between Blue and Pink

The latest episode of the Bakuage Sentai series places a spotlight on the characters and their roles within the team. This includes the establishment of the source of the equipment, teased origins of the members, and even a greater demonstration of what each member brings to the team. The first resistance is also featured as Bun Blue announces his objection to Mira joining as Bun Pink. The episode features the debut of the opening sequence, the cinematic roll call, and the classic dance ending retuning.

Tension Between Bun Blue and Bun Pink

There was unexpected dramatic tension featured between members as the latest foe, Soujiki Groomer, features as a transfigured vacuum created by the Hashiryan to create Gyasolin. Yuuki and Miu bring an underline tension to the series as Ishirou shows a lack of recognition for Mira as a new team member. This is also heightened by his sudden disappearance from the battlefield as Bun Pink finds herself fighting alone. However, this great tension also provided a great moment for Haruhi as Taiya and Ishirou’s relationship was revealed to be intuitive trust, which was a great way to establish the seed of a bond between Bun Pink and Bun Blue at such an early stage.

Newly Revealed Details for Taiya, Bundorio and Genba

The latest episode also elaborates on the characters and the roles that members of the team play in the Sentai. This includes the overwhelming wealth that Taiya possesses and the otherworldly origins of Bundorio (voiced by Rica Matsumoto). Bundorio was revealed to be an alien, instead of a robot, that assists the team and also helped Taiya create the series of gear the team uses. The level of Taiya’s wealth is evident in both his home and how he obtains the method to defeat Soujiki Groomer but the big reveal comes from Genba (Soma Satoru). This is due to his role as the procurement expert, making him the over confident, ‘Faceman’ type for the team.

Humour and Reoccurring Encounter

The greatest moments of humour involved the return of the policeman (Saito Ryu), who finds himself in the crossfire against another monster. Fans already anticipate his debut as the upcoming Bun Black, but he also enhanced the latest release as he is knocked out and Mira tries to stop him from being sucked up, unconsciously. This was such a great laugh and the sudden buyout of a huge recycling ground also continued these gleeful moments throughout. There is also a little quirk of humour added for Bundorio as a great curry chef who makes surprisingly good curry, providing another reoccurring joy to look forward to.

Teased Big Bad and Revealed Powers

Despite their debut, it was revealed that the main trio for the Hashiryan are only the generals to an unrevealed leader. Dekotorade, Ittasha, and Yeiyei were revealed to be answerable to a secret menace that demands the negative scream energy to create Gyahsolin. The vibe was very similar to the Yakuza as the structure suggests that they value underworld respect and reputation. The Sentai team also enlightened fans with even more show of ability, including the insane shooting finisher that allowed the team to dive their bullets after shooting. There was also a great Timeranger-inspired start to the finisher, which shot to create a ‘No Hashiryan’ sign.

For creating a great mix of drama, reveals, and comical moments, we give Episode 2 of Bakuage Sentai Boonbomger a score of 8 out of 10.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will debut Episode 3 on March 17th, 2024, exclusively in Japan. Check out the next Sentai Summary for the next booming review.
