Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger Robo Minipla Revealed!

It’s finally been revealed! Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger’s BoonBoomger Robo makes its way to Minipla line after being previously teased!

A new Super Sentai Minipla speeds into position! Coming ‘boon’ to a ‘source’ near you soon! Let’s waste no time and drive right into the details! BoonBoomger Robo adds something really cool to its set that more Miniplas could employ in the future. Read on to find out more…

BoonBoom Trailer

The BoonBoom Trailer will make up a large majority of the mecha!

BoonBoom Offroad

Making up one of the arms of the mecha, Offroad is also the main weapon of the combined robo!

BoonBoom Wagon

Last, but certainly not least is BoonBoom Wagon, making up the other arm, thus completing the BoonBoomger Robo’s basic combined form.

Like it’s DX counterpart, the BoonBoom Trailer can open up and form into it’s ‘gate’ mode! All future BoonBoom cars will be designed to allow the passing through of the gate. I’ve never been more excited to get more car toys since I was a child!

Be aware though, that unlike it’s DX counterpart, the Minipla won’t allow instant transformation as the vehicles pass through the gate.

BoonBoomger Robo

Here it is in all it’s glory! Like all previous main Sentai Minipla sets, BoonBoomger Robo stands at a good 15cm, which approximates to just less than 6 inches! A nice size should you wish to display it fighting off various Kaiju’s and/or Power Rangers Lightning Collection monsters.

The robo goes from it’s initial ‘trailer’ mode to ‘gate’ and then ‘robo’ mode without the need to swap out or add on any parts or pieces!

While Bandai have been killing it with articulation in their mecha for both Minipla and DX, it seems like the BoonBoomger DX Robo is lacking in it’s articulation range. Fortunately for us Minipla fans, we won’t be receiving the same disappointment as articulation has long been a staple of the Minipla series and is here to stay!

With the BoonBoom Trailer alone, and an alternative head piece (included), you can make friend to the BoonBoomgers, Bundorio Bundelas AKA ‘Bun Bun’. This is a cool little feature and will make an amazing addition to your collection should Bandai (very likely) produce a Boon Red S.H. Figuarts to display alongside.

Lastly, an exciting new feature of this Minipla is the addition of the small plastic standees of the BoonBoomgers to display alongside your mecha. This is honestly such a neat addition and I personally hope it becomes the norm going forward, since the likelihood of Bandai producing figures at such a scale is not high.

Here’s a look at what comes within each numbered box, making the Minipla boxset comprise of six individual boxes to complete the BoonBoomger Robo.

That’s gonna do it for now folks! We have an exciting starter set to look forward to, with hopefully a wide range of vehicles to follow in similar fashion to the DX toys. I see myself acquiring as much of these as possible. Here’s to hoping we see some Turboranger, Carranger, Boukenger or Go-Onger vehicles added to the line. Wishful thinking, I know, but money on the table for Bandai that would be silly to ignore.

The Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger Robo minipla is set to release in April 2024.
