More Characters from Ride Kamens Revealed

Since February 20th, Ride Kamens have been revealing its characters and Rider teams. We continue our look at them today with members of Justice Ride and Mad Guys.

In this article, we’re continuing our look at the characters of Ride Kamens, focussing on Justice Ride and Mad Guys. Previously, we met a single member these groups and talked about it in my last article on this game, which you can see here if you haven’t already. Also, big shoutout to the unofficial Ride Kamens EN X account for translating a lot of this information!

Without further adieu, let’s begin! Going in release order we will be starting with…

Justice Ride: Kamen Rider Haruma/Iori Haruma

The official material describes Iori as:

The sun of his heart shines unto his surroundings: The Super-Positive-Man.

A cheerful, positive, and likable young man. He easily breaks the ice with his sun like brightness and his incredible communication skills. Meanwhile, he has a calmer side where he observes situations and relays his judgment, allowing him to act as his Class’ command tower.

His morning routine is drinking milk.

Some people seem to believe that Iori’s Ridersona is based on Phoenix from Kamen Rider Wizard. Personally, I do not agree with this and, before we get into the other Ride Kamen lads, I would like a to take a moment and explain why I think this and believe, instead, that Iroi’s Ridesona is based on Kamen Rider Kuuga.

It’s made very clear that Iori is a contrast to Saigo, the one based on Ichigo. Saigo is cold and aloof and Iori is warm and welcoming. The people that believe Iori is based on Phoenix believe that the references to the sun in Iori’s bio and name are allusions to the one notable thing about Phoenix, their death. Overlooking that “sunny disposition” is an extremely common way of describing people with Iori’s exact personality.

Additionally, from the rest of Justice Ride, which we will be getting to shortly, there was a clear theme with the decisions on who to base each Rider on; they are all characters that acted out of a strong sense of what they think is right. With that in mind, what do you think it more likely? They would pick the iconic first Rider of the second era of Kamen Rider to contrast with the character that’s based on the first Rider of the era before, or that they would pick someone from only twenty three episodes of Kamen Rider Wizard, whose only notable feature is that he was such a d**k that Wizard threw him into the sun? It really seems like everyone saw a red character with a slightly longer middle horn on their mask, some poetic descriptions of themselves and a little silver on the costume and jumped to the weirdest conclusion.

For more on this, see the guy who’s totally not Flame’s thread on the matter:

Justice Ride: Kamen Rider Shion/Fukami Shion

Clearly inspired by Kamen Rider Faiz’s Yuji Kiba, the Horse Orphnoch, who the official material describes Fukami as:

Changing weakness into strength, The kind hearted pacifist.

A kind and mild young man. He is good at perceiving people’s hearts and seeing through truths and lies beyond words, but is just as empathetic and easily sheds tears. Often acts as a mediator for his class. His culinary skills are pro level, and does home-cooked meals.

Justice Ride: Kamen Rider Jigen/Gamou Jigen

Inspired by Kamen Rider Agito’s G3, we have the last member of Justice Ride Gamou Jigen, who the official material describes as:

Pushing forward on his own path, The earnest hard worker.

An honest young man who hates to lose. Has an old fashioned personality and often doesn’t know how to take jokes. His friends occasionally tease him with the nickname (Stubborn Priest). Having a stronger sense of justice than others, he makes it a daily routine to go on patrols. Likes to make up his own proverbs.

Here is a translated version of the graphic shared showing the characters relationship dynamics and what they think of each other.

Mad Guys: Kamen Rider Kamui/Kamui Narushi

Inspired by Kamen Rider Ex-Aid’s Kuroto Dan (Kamen Rider Genm), and looking like a Bleach character, we have the second member of Mad Guys. The official material describes him as:

Chasing after the ultimate beauty, the narcissistic artist.

An attractive young man who has absolute confidence in his beauty. A self proclaimed genius creator. He is narcissistic to an extreme, and his art is all his self portraits. Normally goes through his creative processes at the abandoned hotel, which serves as his base and atelier.

Has a relationship like cats and dogs with Araki Kyosuke.

Mad Guys: Kamen Rider Agata/Agata Matsunosuke

Lastly, for today, we have the leader of Mad Guys, Kamen Rider Agata. Based on Kamen Rider Hibiki, the official material describes them as:

Burning with vengeance The older brother figure who cares about his friends.

A peaceful, yet aloof fine young man. He is cheerful and approachable, but his hatred towards Chaosism is stronger than others. Normally works part-time at a fishmonger’s. He serves as MADGUY’s leader, and takes care of Araki Kyosuke and Kamui Narushi’s in many ways.

That’s all for now. Currently, more characters are being introduced every day so stay tuned for more Ride Kamens rundowns on The Toku Source.

What do you think of the Ride Kamen boys we have met so far? Do you agree with me about it not making any sense for Haruma to be based on Phoenix? We have three teams left: Slam Days, Tower Emblem and Wisdom Thinks. Any predictions on who we may see? As always, I have been Ethan: Writer, Reviewer and leader of their own team of Kamen Riders for The Toku Source. See you next time.
