A short teaser for an upcoming 30th anniversary project for Ninja Sentai Kakuranger has been posted on X. Here’s what we know so far.
Toei Company today posted a teaser for an upcoming 30th anniversary project for their 1993 Super Sentai series, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. A short video was posted on X with the Kakuranger logo, a logo for the project and a date: February 18th, 2024. Along with these images, a voice clip from Kakuranger’s leader, Ninja Red, Sasuke, was also played.
Alongside this announcement, a webpage was created with a countdown to the February 18th, 5:30pm JST announcement date, as well as a very clean image of the Kakuranger team.
A New Movie From The Shadows?
Current speculation leans towards this Kakuranger anniversary project being a Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club movie, similar to the various anniversary films we’ve recived for other Super Sentai anniversaries, such as Kaizoku Sentai: Ten Gokaiger for Gokaiger’s 10th anniversary, or Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger Degozaru! Shushuuto 20th Anniversary. A movie celebrating 30 years would be the biggest gap between original airing and anniversary special although we have seen various characters from Kakuranger make cameos in other Super Sentai series over the years.
