Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger has revealed the Boonboom Changer and Boonboom Handle. The first roleplay deluxe toys for the 48th Sentai have a range of ‘BoonBoom’ing features and gimmicks for kids and collectors alike.
Boonboomger has revealed the main changer and sidearm used by the main trio for the new Super Sentai series. Boonboom Red, Boonboom Blue, and Boonboom Pink will be the users of the first wave of toys, with previews seen for two new members. The roleplay line will also include interactive features with the Car Series, including linking for sounds and effects.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger has recently revealed the first teaser trailer for the 48th Sentai series. The new Sentai will premiere after the finale of Ohsama Sentai Boonboomger, with five members revealed to debut. Boon Red, Boon Blue, and Boon Pink were the first members revealed by the first poster for the new series, granting fans the first look at their design. However, a new wave of reveals confirms Black and Orange heroes to join the team, which will feature a new arsenal that differs from the main trio.
Changer and Handle Full Epic Details and Gimmicks
The Boonboom Changer and Boonboom Handle have been revealed by Bandai as part of the first wave of roleplay toys for the 48th Sentai series. Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger will feature a car meter device that can be worn on the wrist of the user. The Changer that will only be used by the red, blue, and pink heroes was revealed to be removed for the transformation effect, with a side pedal that moves the indicator and a wheel underneath. Much like Boukenger, the wheel can be spun by running it along the arm after pressing the pedal three times to activate transformation. The device is then placed back on the wrist but can also interact with the Car Series and Robo to activate sounds for the line.
The Boonboom Handle was revealed to be a three mode sidearm used by the team, including rod mode, gun mode and steering wheel mode. There was also a range of unveiled features, including the rod mode designed like a screwdriver and an impact wrench while in gun mode. Along with buttons for activating sounds and finisher attacks, some effects activate by turning the wheel in the steering wheel mode. The Boonboom Changer meter can also be attached to the centre of the weapon while in steering mode for activating and driving the Boonboom Robo.
‘Coming Boon’ Roleplay Already Teased!
There are so many design elements that have gone into the new roleplay line for the 48th Sentai series, but there have also been teasers for more to come. This includes both Boonboom Orange and Boonboom Black to get their own unique changer, which can be an axe, a sword, and a new steering wheel. Although images have not been officially revealed, fans have at least seen a siren based car meter teased during the first teaser trailer. With the gimmick now revealed for the main changer and weapon, the siren based meter and the industrial looking axe will likely be the equivalent of these two releases seen for Boon Red, Boon Blue, and Boon Pink.
Past Elements Reincorporated
This new line will be perfect for both kids and collectors as the new changer and roleplay gear will be so entertaining to use. The best part of the changer is still keeping some previously seen gimmicks and giving them new life. The wheel element and the mecha interaction have previously been seen for Sentai, such as Boukenger and Lupinranger VS Patoranger, but compressing them together has made the functions appear new. We love how the weapon is based on vehicle tools as seen for GoOnger’s main sidearm.
It will be fun to explore all the different possible activations, as the Boonboom Handle could activate sounds with the Car Series, like the Boonboom Changer. It’s great to have such an interactive Changer that produces sounds for each Car Series release and the Robo. It will be interesting to see how the other Changer interacts with the lines as there could be some great crossplay feature yet to be revealed. It will be fantastic to see how both items are used in the new series, which will likely be revealed in the Press Conference ‘Coming Boon’.
Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger roleplay releases, the DX Boonboom Changer and the DX Boonboom Handle will be released in Japan on March 2nd, 2024. The items are part of the first wave of toys, which will include the DX Boonboom Robo and other Car Series line releases. Preorders will open on The Toku Source very soon.
