Ohsama Sentai KingOhger: Chapter 2 Recap

As Ohsama Sentai KingOhger is nearly reaching it’s close, let’s recap what’s happened throughout the second chapter of the 47th Super Sentai Series.

Two years had passed since the KingOhger emerged victorious from the intense battles that had once threatened the peace of Chikyu. The scars of war had begun to heal and the once devastated countries were slowly recovering under the vigilant rule the kings. However, just as hope seemed to be taking root, an ominous threat arises.

Episode 27

In the Kingdom of Bugnarak, a crisis unfolds as the universe’s self proclaimed king, Dagded Dujardin, arrives, threatening destruction. Gira, overseeing a peace conference, learns that the four newly appointed kings are struggling to govern. The planet faces an invasion of SemiShugods, marking the return of Kami no Ikari. Gira confronts Dagded, who reveals his plan to cleanse the universe by orchestrating conflicts among civilisations. Dagded demands Gira eliminate the Bugnarak, hinting at sparing humanity if they prove capable. Gira refuses, opting for a different path, leading to a showdown between the Ohsama Sentai and the Galactinsects. Meanwhile, former kings face bizarre charges.

Episode 28

In Episode 28, after the kings return to their thrones, an unexpected twist occurs when Goma swaps the souls of the monarchs. Hymeno, Kaguragi, Yanma, Rita, Gira, and Jeramie find themselves in each other’s bodies, leading to confusion and chaos. Goma reveals his Ninja Art: Body Swapping Technique, exploiting the disarray to attack KingOhger. As they struggle with their unfamiliar bodies, Goma gains the upper hand. The bodyswapped Ohgers exhibit peculiar behaviours in their respective kingdoms, causing unintended consequences. Despite their initial success against Goma, his summoned assistants turn the tide, forcing the Ohgers to face a formidable challenge.

Episode 29

In Episode 29, a shocking twist unfolds as King Ohger members, except Jeramie, are attacked by their aides, enabling Goma’s escape. The ‘rebellion’ is broadcasted live, enraging Jeramie. The aides regain senses with no recollection. Jeramie questions Gerojim in the Bugnarak Territory about Hilbil Leech’s brainwashing. Gerojim explains the events, manipulated by Hilbil. Jeramie, as Spider Kumonos, confronts Hilbil, but she persuades him. Chikyuu descends into chaos due to Hilbil’s brainwashing, prompting the Ohgers to relinquish their royalty. Jeramie orchestrates a fake scenario, sacrifices himself, and escapes with Gerojim, fulfilling Hilbil’s objective. The remaining Ohgers confront Hilbil in Shugoddam Castle, marking a pyrrhic victory. Jeramie bids them good night, content with easing other kings’ minds.

Episode 30

Gira checks on Jeramie, who reflects on 2000 years but finds solace in newfound friends. Meanwhile, Rita retrieves a repaired necklace from Hymeno, discussing Moffun scalpers and an unexpected tea invitation. Rita reveals their frozen eye’s origin, linked to King Karasu. Karasu freezes Ishabana, and when Rita confronts her, their body freezes. Rita discloses Karasu’s secret power. Gira and Jeramie arrive with an unconscious man, and Hymeno identifies him as Gurodi Leucodium, responsible for the Wrath of God™. Gurodi unleashes chaos, revealing his invincibility and a grim connection to Kamejim. Mama Brasieri intervenes, leaving a cliffhanger.

Episode 31

In Ohsama Sentai KingOhger Episode 31, Jeramie faces a dilemma as his mother, Mama Nephila, is manipulated by Dagded for destructive plans in Shugoddam. The kings devise a staged ruse to catch Dagded off guard. Gira laughs maniacally as the truth is revealed, and the kings unite to use God KingOhger against the enlarged Mama Nephila. The battle takes an emotional turn as Jeramie reminisces about his mother and expresses love for her. The kings deliver a powerful finisher, defeating Mama Nephila, but Dagded seizes them through wormholes, transporting Gira and Yanma to Tokyo, Japan.

Kyoryuger Crossover (Episodes 32 and 33)

In the Kyoryuger Crossover, the kings find themselves in an unfamiliar land and encounter the Kyoryugers. They learn about Dagded’s interference, leaving the Kyoryugers unable to henshin. Jeramie discovers a mural revealing the history of their two worlds, connecting them to Earth. They form bonds with the Kyoryugers, face challenges, and assist in battling the Deboth Army. The kings prepare to leave as Prince, revealed as Kiryu Daigoro, vows to protect Earth as its king. The Kyoryugers bid farewell, realising Prince is Amy and Daigo’s son. The kings depart, leaving Earth in the hands of newfound allies.

Episode 34

Upon returning to Chikyuu, KingOhger faces Dagded’s Shubug swarm. Rita takes charge, navigating through with Yanma and Gira’s teamwork. A masked man observes. The kings expect a warm welcome but encounter hostility; Shugoddam rejects them. Dagded emerges as the new king, provoking discontent. He proposes a King Hunt, challenging the people to capture an Ohger. Amid chaos, Hymeno desires to reclaim treasures manipulated by Dagded. Gira investigates Dagded’s mention of a new king. Kaguragi and Yanma seek Suzume. The kings regroup, engage KinBaejim in the King Hunt, and confront Suzume and Douga. The masked king reveals himself as Racules with a grand plan.

Episode 35


In the aftermath of Galactinsect King Dagded Dujardin’s threat, Racules pledges allegiance to Kamejim, expressing a willingness to die for the Galactinsects’ amusement. Meanwhile, Jeramie advises Gira to remain safe, recognising him as an ace against the Jesters controlling other countries. Yamma, back in N’Kosopa, discovers the hilibili destroying computers. In the struggle to reclaim control, Yamma and Shiokara confront past ties to crime. Despite hardships, Yamma breaks free from brainwashing, dismantles the main computer, and sacrifices N’Kosopa for Shiokara. Their newfound bond unfolds against the backdrop of a devastated kingdom, echoing Yamma’s belief that change begins at

Episode 36

Hymeno announces a marriage competition, luring potential suitors to Ishabana. Romane Dearborn, a duke from the Diābōn Family, enters as a candidate. In a flashback, Romane dedicated his life to Hymeno. Dagded traps Hymeno (disguised as her) and her people, planning to eliminate the kings during the competition. Hymeno recalls the poison’s spread and seeks assistance in the dungeon. The competition’s first challenge involves ballroom dancing, with Romane (in disguise) intervening. In the dungeon, Cleo aids the real Hymeno’s liberation. The next phase requires candidates to whisper affectionate words to Hymeno. Rita grows suspicious, and the real Hymeno reveals Romane’s true identity as Sebastian. The kings henshin to fight Sanagims, and Hymeno confronts Kamejim, restoring control. In celebration, Geoffrey visits, distributing plushies, and Kaguragi seeks Rita’s help to reclaim Toufu.

Episode 37

Citizens condemn Kaguragi for burning Toufu’s rice supply, but he asserts Gurodi as the real threat. Rita questions Kaguragi’s past rebellion against Iroki. Iroki dispatches Gurodi to handle Kaguragi, aiming to uncover the truth. Kaguragi recalls the events leading to Toufu’s rebellion and his quest for justice. The kings, weakened by hunger, struggle to assist Kaguragi. Entering the palace, Kaguragi confronts Iroki about the past, and the two engage in a tense conversation. Outside, Hymeno detects poison in Gurodi’s rice, preventing harm. Gurodi transforms, overpowering the weakened kings. Inside, Kaguragi realises the truth behind Iroki’s actions and acknowledges his betrayal. Iroki, amused, accepts Kaguragi’s realisation. Gurodi battles the kings, incapacitating them. Kaguragi intervenes, emphasising Toufu’s essence of life, and defeats Gurodi, reclaiming control.

Episode 38

Confused by Rita’s participation in Dagded’s idol program, the kings learn Goma manipulated Gokkan prisoners. Rita departs to investigate Jesters as Dagded launches an audition. In the competition, Rittan impresses, advancing with judges’ unanimous support. Jeramie finds a miniature Moffun, suspecting Rita’s secret. Hymeno, discovering Rita’s childhood drawings, believes she seeks popularity. Rita denies it, but Minongan urges her to reveal her true self. Rita’s lively performance earns praise, and she challenges Hirubiru to a performance battle. Yanma and Shiokara infiltrate for the Ultra Computer. Rita confronts Minongan and Goma, henshining for justice. The kings, expecting imprisonment, declare Rita not guilty. Jeramie suggests Minongan harbors another being. Dagded acknowledges Minongan’s failure, satisfied with the experience. Morfonia encourages Rita to be herself, and she reveals her face, smiling for the sunny day ahead.

Episode 39

Yanma rallies the kings to reclaim N’Kosopa, revealing a potent power within their swords. As the kings face Jesters, they deploy decoy computers to distract Hirubiru. Yanma unveils the strategic plan, and Shiokara exposes the true Ultra Computer to lightning, energising the kings. Empowered, they engage the Jesters evenly. Goma absorbs excess power from Dagded, leading to her demise. The kings, exhausted, collapse, and Racules orchestrates Goma’s demise with Kaguragi. Dagded grants Racules permission to join the Jesters, demanding the eradication of resistance on Chikyuu.

Episode 40

In Ishabana, the kings recover from their overpowering superpower, leaving them unable to assist Douga against zombie Sanagims. Gira, regaining consciousness, rushes to aid Douga, while Gabutyra initiates universal communication. Douga and Gira battle the Sanagims throughout the night, joined later by Gabutyra. Prince arrives, and after friendly banter, they henshin to defeat the Sanagims. Enlarged Sanagims prompt Shugods from other kingdoms to attack Shugoddam. Gira summons KingKyoryujin, diverting attention, allowing Prince to vanquish the Sanagims. Returning to Ishabana, Gira’s sudden recovery perplexes the other kings. Racules reveals a sinister plot involving Gira, sowing uncertainty among the Kings.

Episode 41

In a futile attempt, the Ohgers unleash finishers on Dagded, who reveals his immortality. Gira, undergoing a supercharged transformation, faces an indestructible Dagded. Kaguragi suggests activating Suzume’s castle robo, King Caucasuskabuto. Gira, entrusting his lance to Kaguragi, defeats the enlarged Daigorg. Meanwhile, Racules desires the power to kill Gira, leading Dagded to set a trap with explosive cushions. Gira confronts Racules alone, questioning his drastic shift. Kaguragi disarms the bombs, and Gira faces Racules in a henshined battle. As Racules readies a lethal blow, he unexpectedly turns against Dagded, declaring it’s time to save the universe.

Episode 42

Racules, having stabbed Dagded, collapses after a 17 year plan to defeat the Uchu King. Gira, breaking through Dagded’s defences, deals a fatal blow with the Ohger CrownLance. As Dagded laughs manically and explodes, Racules raises the lance, demanding Gira vow to protect the people. Gira tearfully complies, calling Racules his older brother. KingOhger arrives, offering to save Racules. Each suggests a unique approach: Hymeno’s medical expertise, Jeramie’s webs, Yanma’s artificial organs, and Kaguragi’s personal debt. Rita asserts KingOhger’s commitment to saving lives, emphasising their united victory.

Episode 43

Racules stands trial for his alleged betrayal, explaining his family’s history and Gira’s significance. Meanwhile, chaos ensues as a seal is broken, causing age reversals. The Ohgers, now rejuvenated, face Minongan. In a courtroom twist, Racules admits guilt but is deemed insufficiently punished. Minongan’s defeat results in Dagded’s resurgence. Rita offers Racules a reprieve, and the Ohgers assign him the role of defeating Dagded. Gira emphasises Racules’ chance at redemption, leading to the Husty brothers uniting against the impending threat.

Episode 44

In a surprising turn, Yanma holds Racules captive, dressed as a robot. Racules reveals a way to defeat Dagded, discussing sealed powers within the kings’ trinkets. Each king possesses an item with immense power, and Racules suggests uniting as one to unleash it. The Ohgers engage in a whimsical contest to determine the leader capable of controlling this ultimate power. Yanma, using Shugods’ collective strength, showcases its potential. However, chaos ensues when Hirubiru manipulates the Ohgers through brainwashing. Yanma, reveling in newfound power, faces Gira, triggering widespread destruction. Eventually, Gira’s determination snaps Yanma out of his power induced stupor. United, they defeat Hirubiru, breaking her mind control. After the ordeal, Yanma comprehends the pitfalls of power. In the aftermath, the kings form an alliance, rejecting a single leader for equal collaboration. Yanma, having spoken to each kingdom, proposes a united front for Chikyuu’s safety. Suzume realises Racules orchestrated this alliance subtly, ensuring the kingdoms’ cooperation. Racules reveals the origins of the kings’ powers and the need for unity to unleash their true potential.

Episode 45

In a united effort, the leaders with King’s Proof trinkets decide to harness their powers to defeat Dagded and end the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, in Toufu, Kaguragi discusses succession plans with Suzume, and in Gokkan, Rita encourages Morfonia to become a king judge. The leaders experiment with their King’s Proof powers, leading to unpredictable outcomes. Minongan, manipulated by Dagded, attacks, causing chaos and reverting some to childlike states. After a joint effort, Kaguragi and Rita use their King’s Proof powers to defeat Minongan, restoring everyone to normal. Suzume and Morfonia embrace their roles as successors with newfound understanding.

Ohsama Sentai KingOhger will continue with Episode 46, which airs in Japan on 28th January 2024 on TV-Asahi with the finale airing on the 23rd February 2024.
