Sentai Jackets Rescue Series Jacket Review

The Rescue Series Jacket offers the best cosplay item for Lightspeed Rescue fans, with unbelievable regular use features. Sentai Jackets recreation of the iconic jacket featured in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue offers an incredibly accurate cosplay, with the option to represent all six Lightspeed Rangers.  

The original Power Rangers item has been recreated to be show accurate memorabilia that even includes various pockets and details seen for the series worn prop. The product also includes materials and features that allow the cosplay item to even be usable in a range of activities, outside of conventions. From show accurate details to an empowering feel, here is our take on this brilliant recreation of an iconic Power Rangers item.  

Sentai Jackets revealed the upcoming fan recreation for the Power Rangers fandom on June 30th, 2023. The US based tokusatsu cosplay store was renowned for making various collectibles and cosplay items available outside of Japan, including Premium Bandai products for Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series. Recently, new custom items were added to the site that were created especially for fans, including recreations from the Power Rangers franchise. Posts on social media teased the release and preorders opened during July, showcasing the switchable patch feature that allows a fan to cosplay any member of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.

Everyday Use Featured for the Rescue Series Jacket 

The first impression instantly hitting those that obtain the jacket is the very high quality featured. The material feels fantastic and doesn’t have any texture that may be considered inaccurate, since the jacket would bare well against the elements. The best surprise was discovering it is a legitimately heavy jacket so could be worn outside without any concern about using it for harsh or cold weather. This fundamentally adds to the value of the cosplay as the jacket was worn by emergency response members, so the use of the jacket even matches the durability anticipated.  

Show Accurate Features to Die For 

The attention to detail is on point as it mirrors the jacket worn on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue beyond approach.  This demonstrated Sentai Jacket’s intent clearly as the team must have put a lot of time and care into developing the release. Compared to the six jackets featured in the 2000 series, it could be argued that the item is 100% accurate to the detail. The only thing missing from the look is the Rescue Morpher and even the Rescue Blaster, which simply adds greater value to the roleplay toy lines released for the Power Rangers season. 

The patches were a vital element that have been recreated as a key detail, which are unique to each character. The sets match each team member’s symbols exactly and come with a backing piece of Velcro for when they aren’t in use. Being able to switch the patches to different sets is one of the best features of the Jackets as most cosplay items are often cemented to one character. Its brilliant how much the team have thought about adapting the jacket, while also ensuring longevity and projection for the custom made representation.

The ordering process was really easy and the site helps by offering lots of payment plan options. This is fantastic as it allows fans to obtain the jacket by helping spread the cost without worrying about the availability. The team also demonstrated brilliant customer service though the site and various social media platforms, which even included answering any questions we had and kept a customer in the loop about order updates. As they are outside of the UK, it was fantastic to see that the order was in the country within two weeks, despite the proximity to Christmas at the time the purchase was made. 

Rescue Ready, Almost 

One of the issues we encountered with the Rescue Series Jacket was related to the Velco that allows the patches to be placed. The small scale of the velco meant that there wasn’t complete contact for the patch, which could have been resolved with a bigger surface area. It would have been amazing if the patch could have been completely wrapped around the shoulder as there are instances where the patch could get caught and torn off. Although the patch feels fairly secure, it still places a doubt in the wearer’s head that it could be lost if engaged in an intense activity. 

Rangers To Rescue Ops For Debrief 

Although the velco was a concern, the value of the jacket goes beyond the standard cosplay expectations that the Power Rangers fandom has gotten used to. The whole experience with Sentai Jackets and the purchase was extremely satisfying and it’s a thrill to have such a show accurate piece of memorabilia. The team at Sentai Jackets have gone beyond with ensuring that they meet the expectations of the fandom and their dedication to customer service shows how much they value their clients.
