Complete Details on the Figure-Rise Standard Kamen Rider Kiva

Kamen Rider Kiva joins the Figure-Rise line! Break the chain and complete your Heisei Rider collection with the final Rider of the generation!

Christmas has come early this year with the imminent reveal of Kamen Rider Kiva’s Kiva Form joining the Bandai Figure-Rise Standard model kit line!

For those (including myself) actively collecting the Figure-Rise Standard line, Kamen Rider Kiva will not only complete Phase 1, but all of the Heisei period Riders. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect when he’s released in 2024.

To accommodate Kamen Rider Kiva’s unique poses, the articulated axes of the hip and waist joints have been completely rebuilt, adopting a new style not seen in any other previous Rider kits. Through moving the exterior of the waist with the interior of the joints, a wide range of leg poses can be achieved.

It is said the ‘suit’ of the figure will feature mirror polish and an extra finish. Being that the images of the kit are a render and not a real figure, it’s a bit difficult to see what the natural results of the end product will be. Hopefully it means the chest will feature a nice reflective red similar to the Kamen Rider Kuuga (Decade version) Figure-Rise kit.

I was always curious how the chains were going to be reproduced when it came to Kiva; thankfully, the Bandai Hobby team have come up with a practical way to deal with it. The chains will be separate pieces that attach to the shoulders, legs and feet. Hopefully the pieces will remain sturdy when removing to avoid any fragile accidental breakages.

Like most Figure-Rise Standard kits, they come with more than just the figure and the team at Bandai Hobby have not disappointed, including the effect pieces to recreate the Hells Gate open form. The expected posing pedestal is also included, allowing you to achieve all kinds of dynamic poses including, but not limited to, the Rider kick.

The set will also come with a smaller posing pedestal, allowing Kivat-Bat the 3rd to detach from the belt and be positioned to recreate its flying state.

Lastly, the Figure-Rise kit will include six different types of Fuessuru, all of which can be inserted or removed from the Fess slot. A few alternative hand pieces will also be in the kit, including one to hold the Fuessuru. While they are shown here in colour, past logic (Wizard, Drive, etc) dictates that the kit will include tiny stickers for the Fuessuru. You may want to consider painting them to achieve the desired effect.

That’s all for now folks! Currently, the Kamen Rider Kiva Figure-Rise Standard kit is shaping up to be a really exciting set and a great alternative for those that missed out on the S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kiva back in 2019. Don’t forget to also complete your Heisei Phase 2 Rider collection next month with the release of Figure-Rise Standard Kamen Rider Gaim!
