The Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition release has been revealed, along with its list of features. The upcoming sword for the Premium Bandai line was previously teased but fans will now discover what the item belonging to DekaMaster will include.
The D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition will include an array of iconic sounds and effects as part of the line that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the 28th Sentai series. This includes two modes for collectors to enjoy and will also feature effects specifically used by DekaMaster’s main weapon in various episodes.
Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger will be celebrating its anniversary with a new V-Cinema movie. This includes the return of the iconic cast from the Super Sentai series as they continue their story with a new instalment. Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger 20th: Fireball Booster will also feature a brand new mode for DekaRed named Premier DekaRed. As part of the celebration, Premium Bandai will also release a Memorial Edition of the SP License Changer, with the movie exclusive SP1 License also coming.
D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition Coming Summer 2024
The official images for the Dekaranger D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition were revealed by Premium Bandai as preorders went live in Japan. The features of the new release in the line were revealed, including the newly designed model for the item and its complex design surface structure. The sword, to be released in August 2024, will be approximately 900mm tall, and will also include a realised characteristic brim, with details such as its grip ‘thoroughly expressed’. Sound gimmicks can also be activated with various buttons added to the sword, including an attack button, a dialogue button, and a BGM button.

The Memorial Edition will also feature with two sets of modes for show accurate effects and lines from the cast. This includes lines from Toru Inada in the DekaMaster version and lines from Ryuji Sainei in the Deka Red version. Along with 3 BGM songs and a 100 people slash effect audio, the other set of modes include a switch from Sealing mode to Release mode, with restraints released and LEDs lighting up blue-white. This is a main feature of the sword as seen in the TV series, with a release sound activated during the switch.
The LED lights for the switch to Release mode are going to be a beloved feature of this Memorial Edition release, which will be exciting to see in action. The amount of detail gone into the Sword is outstanding. Including both BGM and the modes for DekaMaster and Deka Red were expected but it’s fantastic that they managed to capture the mode switch to Release mode, despite limitations.
2024 is certaining a fantastic time for Memorial Edition weapons as even the Kyoryuger GaburiCalibur is part of the release schedule. With KingOhger soon concluding, many fans are hoping the year will end with the Ohger Calibur joining the calendar. It will be exciting to see what else will be included for Dekaranger as time passes, since there has yet to be a Brace Throttle release in a new line for DekaBreak.
Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition is scheduled to release in August 2024, with preorder live in Japan from today. The exact release date of the Premium Bandai item will be announced during 2024.
