Potential Theming

The reveal of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger for 2024 was confirmed through a copyright submission but details about the 48th Sentai series have surfaced through ongoing rumors. As the official reveal date approaches, these rumours are becoming increasingly accurate. Rangerboard has a history of sharing leaks and speculations related to previous Super Sentai series prior to their official December reveals.

According to Rangerboard user, Dukemon (Matt Hunt), and several other leakers, the motif of BoonBoomger will be vehicles. Given the current era Sentai is in, though, we do not expect this season to be a season of straight up vehicles. With BoonBoomger, a twist is very likely.

BoonBoomger Leaks and Rumours

In the past, Matt Hunt has unearthed leaks pertaining to various aspects of the series, including the Ranger suits, colours, mecha, and the henshin device. This year is no different.

According to his leaks, the team is expected to consist of five core members, each representing a distinct colour: Red, Blue, Pink, Black, and Orange, the same colour formation as Battle Fever J.

The changer device is versatile as it can easily attach to various types of weapons, offering a unique and exciting functionality. Additionally, there’s an intriguing ‘Car Meter’ motif which adds onto the vehicle theme that Toei and Bandai are going for.

Moreover, these rumours provide details about the upcoming Ranger forms. Each member of the team is expected to have a a white base colour. Their helmets will involve wheels to some degree which we have seen with past vehicle Sentai that Toei have done. Furthermore, the chest designs are said to resemble meters, possibly indicating some form of power measurement or gauge.

Furthermore, the leaks have disclosed the sequence in which the Rangers will make their debuts. The first three members will likely be introduced together, followed by the remaining two in separate episodes. Interestingly, the debut pattern aligns with the mecha’s development within the series.

On a similar note to Lupinranger VS Pataranger, there is a bus mecha which can combine with a Jet Mecha and a Car Mecha as the main body. The mecha also combine in a similar way to UnitRoborn.

Analysis

The upcoming design concept is causing quite a buzz and for good reason. Its innovative approach has people genuinely excited. The choice to go with white as the primary colour isn’t just a visual treat, it carries profound symbolism, hinting at an exciting new direction for the team’s overall look.

What’s even more intriguing is the incorporation of a car meter and subtle wheel references on the helmets. These elements are like a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscent of the beloved GoOnger series. They also suggest the possibility of a fusion with Patoranger, blending these exciting components into a cohesive whole. It’s quite conceivable that the car meter on the chest might become a symbol representing the entire team, with the overarching car theme shaping the very essence of the design.

One particularly captivating development is the reintroduction of a wrist changer. This marks a notable departure from the previously popular trend of weapon based changers. This shift in design philosophy indicates that Sentai is actively exploring innovative ways to connect with and captivate its audience, constantly keeping fans eagerly anticipating each new season.

However, it is important to note that leaks may not always be 100% accurate as some facts could get lost in translation for various reasons. For instance, with what we saw with Kingohger where it was rumoured that PapllionOhger would be pink rather than purple and that SpiderKumonos would be purple. However leaks such as Matt’s shed light onto potential concepts that could be on shows.
