Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the SP License Memorial Edition. The main Changer for the 28th Sentai series is given the Premium Bandai treatment as part of the iconic line, including many show accurate features.
The Memorial Edition release now joins the lineup, which consists of collectibles for Abaranger, Hurricaneger, Zenkaiger, and even Donbrothers. As the next big anniversary, fans await news of an upcoming new reunion for the cast as the popular Sentai celebrates a second decade since their series aired.
Super Sentai has featured many anniversary specials for various Sentai series, including integrations with modern Sentai teams. A wave of V-Cinema releases has celebrated these anniversaries with Abaranger and Hurricaneger recently celebrating their 20th anniversary. Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger was the following Sentai series after Abaranger, which was adapted into Power Rangers SPD. Dekaranger featured their 10 years later movie as part of their last anniversary milestone with new Artisan SP Licenses released for collectors.
Currently, the anniversary of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger has been integrated into Ohsama Sentai KingOhger for their first big anniversary event. The Memorial Edition line now takes part in these celebrations, since the Premium Bandai line includes high quality collectibles for previously concluded series. From show accurate changers to full scale weapons, various Sentai series have featured new releases that upgrade the original deluxe toys. For Sentai such as Gokaiger, Hurricaneger and Abaranger, a new item was also released for a new powerup mode, which could function with the upgraded changer in the line.
Dekaranger 20th Anniversary: SP License Memorial Edition
The Dekaranger SP License Memorial Edition is the upcoming release from Premium Bandai to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sentai. The changer features all three modes with sounds and effects, including Change, Phone, and Judge modes. The set includes the SP License with a holder and 5 interchangeable plates for each Ranger. The Change mode includes the henshin phases, with 3 BGM songs from the series and a cast mode that can include the 5-member introduction.
The phone mode features lines from the cast, with call tone and shutter sounds for the mode. The Judge mode features the ‘Judgement Time’ effect as seen in the series, and for the first time will feature the mode that can allow a user to select the outcome. This includes the Guilty or Innocent verdict visually displayed after switching between both for the judging sequence. The mode will also feature a cast mode for various lines that deliver the reading of charges and more.
There are many features that are similar to the Artisan SP License but there are minor differences included, such as the better LED and the Judgement time verdict manual selection. If fans missed out on the previous release then now is the perfect time to obtain this item whether you are a fan of Dekaranger or Power Rangers SPD. This is due to the changer being a show accurate release that will be perfect for any toku collection.
As this is a 20th anniversary release, it will be interesting if there is a secret new release to follow as Memorial Editions have previously featured a new compatible attachment. It will also be interesting if the other SP Licenses for other team members will debut in the line, especially Dekabreak’s BraceThrottle. The sixth hero from the series has yet to receive an upgrade for his Changer, so it will be interesting if the next release will finally come. For now, there is no news regarding a V-Cinema release for the new anniversary so it will be exciting to find out what comes next.
Dekaranger SP License Memorial Edition is scheduled to release in Japan in March 2024. The Premium Bandai release will include the Changer, holder, and the 5 plates for each member of the main team.
