Take it with a pinch of salt but we might have our first look at a new driver from Kamen Rider Gotchard! With a bit of speculating thrown in, too, let’s take a look!
Back since before it was officially announced, one of the most prominent rumours surrounding Kamen Rider Gotchard is that Kamen Rider Decade would be making a return with their first appearance supposedly during the October block of episodes. A head of this a number of sources has posted what appears to be a close up of concept art for a new rider for Gotchard as well as a caption revealing it’s called the Legend Driver.
This also a lines with other rumoured edits attempting to show approximations of what the driver will look like by editing together other drivers, much like what was done with the edits of Kamen Rider Aqua in the lead up to Gotchard’s official reveal, where fans edited Aqua into a close approximation to give people an idea of how the real Gotchard might look.
Taking a closer look at concept art for the Legend Driver ( or, perhaps, LegenDriver?) it appears to have inserted into it the Kamen Rider Geats Chemy Card. One X user created a visual guide on how they believe the new driver works, which lines up with how I also believe it to work as well.
In addition to all of this information on the driver, one source also reposted the picture of the gorgeous Decade fanart that made rounds a earlier on this year with the following caption:
“Only details have little bit different with the official.”
This strongly implies that it’s very close to what we will actually be seeing in the show come October. For those that missed these rumours the first time around, this art was found out to have originated as an accompanying piece of art to go along with someone’s fan story, where Daiki Kaito (Kimito Totani), Kamen Rider Diend takes over the mantle of Decade.
Final Thoughts
While I don’t think Decade himself is returning for Gotchard, I don’t think its impossible – even with Tsukasa Kadoya (Masahiro Inoue) being killed in ZI-O Vs Decade. What I believe to be the most likely answer is that the Legend Driver will be used by someone new to become Kamen Rider Legend, a new Kamen Rider inspired by and looking similar to Kamen Rider Decade. In turn, this would mean that everyone in the early days of Gotchard rumours (with nothing but a toy listing to speculate off) made a mistake and assumed it was actually Decade. Between this and toy listing leaks already I do believe Legend is real – not to mention how obvious having a gold Rider is in the season based on Alchemy is – but I believe them to most likely be another Twokaiser situation, a golden character based on a past seasons motifs that’s played by someone completely new who I’m sure fans will come to love.
